The only way to win is to lose your heart…

Cry Sanctuary
Keith Winston has come home to Montana to find peace. Instead, the veteran warrior finds himself fighting pressure to become the alpha’s right hand. His attraction to a new wolf on the run sucks him into yet another battle between his instincts and his heart.

Abigail Adler knew nothing about werewolves—until she became one. Red Rock is her only refuge, but she chafes under its rigid rules. Except when it comes to submitting to the passion Keith stirs in her body. With her sister in danger, though, they will both have to risk breaking all the rules.

Sanctuary Lost
Brynn Adler hates feeling helpless and vulnerable. But that’s right where she is…in a world of werewolves. Worse, her sister Abigail is one of them. The pack wants to send her packing, yet she’s unwilling to leave—her sister, or the one man who makes her forget her life is falling apart.

Joe Mitchell knew getting involved with Brynn was a bad idea. A supernatural war is no place for a human, and he’s not about to let her make a decision that will bring pain and regret. Now all he has to do is let her go.

Warning: Contains hot, primal werewolf sex, violence, explosions, heroines kicking a little ass, and sexual power games with a couple of badass ex-Special Forces alphas.

Two wonderful little stories about two sisters, changed into werewolves against their will, and two strong alpha wolves helping them embrace the change and live with the new animal within.

This was a complete "blind" read, a completely new author, but Ms. Rogers and her were-world literally blew me away. While I absolutely loved the first story, the second one took some time to get "used to", but I ended up loving it as well.

Wonderful characters, great plot, amazing world-building (despite the obviously been-there-done-that topic, Ms. Rogers managed to find something fresh to bring out of the lore), intriguing suspense sub-plot...I loved every minute of it.

Wow!!! What a great set of stories. The first one, Cry Sanctuary just plain and simply pulled me in and held on tight. I loved these characters: Keith and Abby. They certainly made a fierce couple, one that I couldn't help but love. The pace was fast, the action fierce and the love so intense it jumped off the pages. Then the follow up story; Sanctuary Lost continues with Brynn and Joe's story. You meet them in the first story and it's another winner. I look forward to reading the other stories. Can't wait to get my hands on them.
Buy this book, you'll be glad you did, I guarantee it!!

The Moira Rogers team is fantastic! I find myself continually drawn into their worlds and caring about their characters to such an extent that I actually cry and feel for them. And the romance is steamy hot! If you love sexy, engaging stories with strong heros and equally strong heroines plus a HEA, I highly recommend any of their books! (Though I am partial to the Bloodhounds series... C'mon, yall - give me some more books, please!)

Sanctuary is actually the combined release of two separate, shorter stories; Cry Sanctuary is the story of Keith and Abby and comes first, chronologically, while Sanctuary Lost is the story of Brynn and Joe. I highly recommend reading them in order and back to back in order to get the full effect of the story, because it is definitely an effect worth getting, no doubt about that.

The stage for an excellent werewolf story is set from the first pages. Red Rock, Montana is a sanctuary for wolves escaping from more violent, corrupt packs. In Red Rock, residents are treated with dignity and respect; in other, less stable packs, members are treated however the alpha feels like treating them. The plight of new wolves caught in the clutches of cruel, brutal or just plane insane alphas is an issue the wolf world is trying to resolve.

Abby Adler is one of those new wolves. She was turned against her will because the freaky alpha of the Helena pack decided he wanted her; now she's on the run with her friend Dylan to try to make it to safety before they're hunted down and killed. Keith figures he'll rescue the two trapped wolves and bring them to Red Rock and that'll be that; he doesn't plan on the epic, immediate attraction between him and Abby. They do an okay job fighting their attraction to one another, but then Abby's sister is kidnapped by her old alpha and the whole scene goes to the dogs (literally) in a big hurry. Abby has to learn to control herself and rely on Keith if there's any chance of saving Brynn's life.

Cry Sanctuary has all the ingredients for an excellent story- great, believable characters, a realistic and detailed setting, a spicy (and I do mean spicy) romance, adventure, danger, and a believable setup for the second story. I think being able to dive right into Sanctuary Lost helped me enjoy this story a little more, since the two really do read like one longer novel instead of two novellas.

Grade: A

While Cry Sanctuary is all about the alphas and what it means to be strong, Sanctuary Lost is about recovering from trauma and relying on the strength of someone else, and how that's okay too. Brynn (Abby's sister) is trying to come to grips with a) what happened to her while she was Alan the crazy alpha's prisoner, b) dealing with her sister being a werewolf, and c) trying to figure out if her desire to be changed is genuine or just a reaction to the stress that's spewing all over her life. Her conflicting feelings for Joe, one of her rescuers, certainly aren't helping things either, and Joe's just as conflicted as she is. The story is angsty and emotional and gut-wrenching; I sympathized with Brynn while at the same time feeling excited for her to get to her happy ending. The fact that a lot of important decisions are brutally ripped out of Brynn and Joe's hands only sweetens the deal for the end of the story.

Sanctuary Lost takes a different approach to the relationship between the hero and heroine. There are lots of stories out there about an alpha pair finding their way to each other, but not so many where one of the characters is less dominant than the other. Sanctuary Lost explores that concept very efficiently without ever painting the characters as stupid or naive. It left me wanting to read more of the series like, now.

Overall Grade: A

Well, duh. Don't I feel dumb. I just realized I put my review on the wrong version of this book. I finished reading it weeks ago. :( Anyway...

I got ahold of Cry Sanctuary as a First Read. I had no clue what I was in for. I’ve never read anything in this series or these authors before. The first couple pages of the book totally hooked me. I immediately wanted to know what was going on. I thought the world was great. I liked the idea of Guides, the author’s attention to world building in terms of the town and the larger world outside the town, the new take on an old mythology (idea of wizards and the possible connection with werewolves), and the werewolf politics. I really enjoyed the setup of the world and the characters and how their initial interaction took place. What a great way to introduce the reader to the world and the characters! I immediately cared what happened.

Unfortunately, some of that steam evaporated when it came to the relationship between Keith and Abby. I found their relationship hurried, sort of shallow and a little herky-jerky, regardless of the hot and heavy take-me-now-before-I-rocket-into-orbit sex. There were a couple places where the action seemed to make a u-turn on itself and I found myself going "Huh?". I think this led to some of the awkwardness between them as a couple. I wanted to see more story involving them as a couple and what brought them together. Whether that was more attempts by the Baddies to get Abby back, more interaction with other residents of the town, or Abby even her losing control (which was hinted at but never happened and would have been interesting to explore (there were plenty of emotionally charged scenes where she could have lost it). I kept waiting for there to be more WHUMPH and FWOOOOSH and WHEEEE! between them other than just heavy panting.

One of the questions I had was, Why werewolves? We don’t see them turn into werewolves, we don’t see werewolves rampaging across the countryside, we don’t hear werewolves howling at the moonlight. The only real show of werewolves we get is the kind of peculiar split-personality reference characters make to their wolves and having to learn to deal with them as if they’re different people entirely (again, this would have been an interesting thing to explore more deeply since Abby is new to this and now has to deal with this Other set of primal instincts and needs).

For being a new werewolf that was made when she was attacked, who came from an abusive environment, and has already shifted once (I presume that was traumatic?) she was incredibly well-adjusted.

Clearly, I’ve come to the party late. There are a bunch of other books in this series (I have #2 to read and review as well.) Maybe there’s werewolves frolicking and rampaging around in the other books, but I just felt like if it’s a story about werewolves I wanted to see some fur flying somewhere. Hopefully there will be some werewolves in the next one! I plan on reading it and finding out. How can I stop reading with gem lines like “If you blow up my woman, I’ll end you.” Hahah.

Sanctuary contains the first two books in the Red Rock Pass series. Don't let the small size fool you. This series is awesome. This is a must read for all werewolf lovers. It features amazing characters who sizzle between the pages, witty dialogue, and kick ass action. If you are a fan of paranormal romance give this series a try. I think you'll be pleased.

Cry Sanctuary (Book 1):

To sum up my feelings for this book in one word would be Wow! Bree and Donna, the ladies that make up the persona known as Moira Rogers, have managed to create some of the hottest alpha males I’ve ever encountered. Keith Winston won my heart the moment he was introduced. He has just recently returned from fighting the war between werewolves and wizards. While trying to recover from years spent in battle he has Abigail Adler suddenly thrown into his life.

Abby is a new wolf who is trying to escape her abusive pack leader. Things between Abby and Keith heat up immediately. I’ll just say the hotel scene that takes place between these two lovely wolves early in the book is one I could (and did!) read over and over. Keith is seriously dreamy and Abby reaches a level of badass I can’t help but to covet.

This book has romance, action, an irresistible hero, and an unflinching heroine. Oh and I can’t forget the steamy scenes involving previously mentioned hero and heroine. The Red Rock Pass series is definitely worthy of a spot on my list of favorites.

Sanctuary Lost (Book 2):

I enjoyed the second installment of the Red Rock Pass series even more than the first. When I first started reading I didn’t think I could love Joe more than Keith. Was I ever wrong! His sense of humor did me in. There is just something about a guy who is sexy and can make me laugh. Present me with that combo and I’m a goner.

Sanctuary Lost is Brynn and Joe’s story. Brynn is a law student who finds herself immersed in werewolf drama after she is kidnapped by a psychotic alpha. Brynn is young, sassy, and completely endearing. Joe is a total smart ass but in a charming way. You’ll like it, I promise! The chemistry between Joe and Brynn is intense. It made this book difficult to put down.

The events in Sanctuary Lost are heart wrenching at times. The authors managed to make me feel an array of emotions in less than 150 pages. That is saying something about their ability to tell a story. It also contains everything I loved about the first book in the series. Romance, action, and fascinating characters make for a heck of a good book. This was a fabulous addition to a very addictive series.

4 & 1/2 out of 5 Stars!

It’s a well known fact that i have a penchant for alpha males, specially the shape shifting type. So, Moira Rogers’s Red Rock Pass series is right up my alley and I have to say I loved it.

Sanctuary is actually two stories in one book. Cry Sanctuary and Sanctuary Lost both came out before in ebook version and now they have been put together and are coming out in one print volume.

The modern world and society are hell on werewolf traditions and the packs living in big cities have been corrupted into something more akin to a dictatorship.

Red Rock is home of one of the few packs in the world where the old laws and traditions are still appreciated and is also considered sanctuary to those who need to escape the cruel life among the distorted packs.

In Cry Sanctuary we get to know new werewolf Abby, ho is running from an alpha obsessed with making her his bitch in every sense of the word. Her best friend, Dylan, is a lower ranked wolf, but he can’t stand to see her suffer as such so he breaks her out and they both run to Red Rock.

Keith just came back from fighting in the war between wizards and werewolves in Europe. He is an enforcer for the alpha and his newest responsibility is bringing Abby and Dylan to red Rock safely.

Abby and Keith’s connection is undeniable and sets the book pages on fire. Their road to a HEA is not easy in the slightest, specially when the crazy alpha who is hunting Abby, kidnaps her sister and uses her as leverage to get what he wants.

Sanctuary Lost is the story of Abby’s sister Brynn and Keith’s friend and fellow enforcer, Joe. By saving Brynn, Joe has forged a connection that he is not sure he is ready to face. Brynn is human and stuck in midst a brewing war, she has a decision to make, stay human and weak among werewolves or become one of them.

Both stories are strong and action packed. There is a lot of smexing for sure , but the balance between plot and the sex is extremely well done and satisfying. I loved this book and I just can’t wait for more Red Rock Pass books.

If you are into Paranormal Romance, this is definitely a series you should look into to, great story, interesting plot, a lot of action in and out of bed and hot and sexy werewolves, what more can you ask for?

Cry Sanctuary:
Action, romance and a smoking hot werewolf! This is how I like my Paranormal Romances.

The Moira Rogers duo manage to create a believable and interesting setting even while the romance storyline is dominant. Talking about dominant: I really liked that both Abigail and Keith are dominant werewolves as it gave the romance and action a bit more bite to it. Too often in werewolf stories the author decides to give the hot, sexy dominant male a nice little mate who needs to be protected by a big strong man, so it was refreshing to see a dominant female werewolf and the problems she encounters because of that. I can advice anyone who loves a shifter/werewolf romance to pick up this series. I know I'll be reading the rest of this series anyway!

Sanctuary Lost:
After reading the first story in this series I was quite confident I would like this story and indeed the Moira Rogers duo didn't disappoint.

I think I might even love this story a bit more than the first. There was more balance between the romance storyline and the overall storyline and I really liked that. The romance is hot, steamy and intense and the action storyline is kick-ass and intense as well. Brynn and Joe are both a bit dense at times, but that's written into the story in such a way you can understand why and relate to them. There's a new character introduced who clearly will get her own story and who helps expand on the world building, but all this is done in a way that it fits into the story, so it doesn't feel forced.

So a great sequel that convinced me to keep reading this series.

I loved these two stories. Every authors take on supernatural creatures varies. Moira Rogers werewolves are definitely at the head of the pack! I love the female characters, but I must admit that Brynn is my favorite of the Adler sisters.

Abby is a very good alpha wolf, but sometimes I like rooting for the underdog. I like the fact that Brynn has to overcome her nature to be the strong female that she wants to be. Add that to the fact that she's a type of wolf that generally doesn't survive the way she was turned. Brynn is definitely the kind of character that I like pulling for.

The only thing that was a bit of a downer was the lack of shifting in the first book. How can you write a werewolf novel with no shifting? There was action, but now wolves. But other than that, the story lines were pretty good in both.

I am most certainly a fan now, and cant wait to get the next books in the series.

This wasn't a bad book overall, but since I am not a fan of short stories then I didn't find it that enjoyable.
If you are a fan of short stories, then this is a good book for you. Lots of paranormal action, which is the new thing this year.
The one thing that this book had going for it was the likable characters and the fact that the two stories in the book are connected. You just switch perspective half way through the book.
