Walt Disney's Clock Cleaners. A Walt Disney Picture Book Vintage Collection Republished from the original 1938 Edition* Beautifully illustrated with textured linen-like card stock pages* A wonderful addition to any Disney collection!
I'm not quite sure how to classify this book. As a work of children's literature it's pretty good. The story line is simplistic but cute, and the pages feel durable enough to be appropriate for children in the recommended age group. (The back cover says for ages 5 and up.) However, this reprinted edition seems to have been published as a collector's item, and I'm not sure how well the book succeeds as an adult collectible. I can imagine some people purchasing a copy for nostalgia reasons, but I don't think the book has enough substance to appeal to a broad audience of adult collectors, other than as a curiosity. Don't get me wrong, the book is good for what it is. And considering that adult Disney fans generally know how to tap into their inner child maybe a collector's reproduction has more mass-market potential than I realize. Did I like it? Yes. Would I reread it? Probably not. Would I recommend it? Maybe.
