Excellent book on the history between minority groups and their relationship to the national parks. As a person of Latino descent and a lover of the national parks it was great to read a book that reflected my own personal experiences with the national parks. At this time I have made it a point to visit a new major national park each year. The most difficult factor I have faced is trying to change the ingrained views of such public spaces that are present within my own family. I continue to visit the national parks, and share my experiences with my friends and own extended family; hoping to change their perspectives on these places. An excellent book for anyone interested in the future of our national parks. If the national parks are to survive, they must broaden the reach of those who visit them. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to meet the authors in the future, as they are an inspiration in this regard.

This book should be required reading
If you love national parks and want to protect them, this book should be required reading. Peterman traces her first trip to see national parks and describes the critical nature of expanding the environmental movement to include all Americans.

I was inspired by Audrey and Frank's energetic presentation at an Interior workshop in 2010, and have kept in touch with them since.
