Again, the target audience is linguistics students.I would certainly not recommend this to any of my EFL/ESL students. However, it caters to the needs of its target audience(teritary student grammarians) very well. This book guided me through the mire of PCOs, PCs, co-ordinators, subordinators, mono-transitives and complex transitives, pseudo clefts and dislocutions kindly and masterfully. It is lucid, fluff-free and accessible. What more could you ask from a University grammar?
