Draw 50 Magical Creatures teaches aspiring artists how to draw with ease by following simple, step-by-step instructions. Acclaimed author and illustrator Lee J. Ames shows you how to draw an enchanting variety of mystical creatures and legendary beasts, including a stately centaur, a frightening Cyclops, a playful fairy, a bashful mermaid, and so much more.
Lee J. Ames’s drawing method has proven successful for children and adults alike over the past thirty years. The thirty books in the Draw 50 series have more than five million copies in print and have shown everyone from amateurs to experts how to draw everything from animals to airplanes.
Even the youngest artists can make these mythical beasts look great. It’s easy when you do it the Draw 50 way.
Rubbish. Not good for beginners. A bunch of random squiggles and abracadabra a perfect drawing with tone. I have a few of the Draw 50 books, not the originals but later published and this one is the worst. It’s a poor copy of the original. Whoever’s job it was to copy over the original did a very poor job because none of the trace lines are visible like in the other books. Save yourself the money, look online for free tutorials.
You have a large selection of characters, but they're given over usually six steps. The instructions in the beginning tell you to attempt each step freehand.
That's wrong. You're supposed to put a paper over the step, and trace it. Then, move to the next step, and line up. I HATE this method almost as much as the grid squares method.
