For these two searching hearts, it will take the love of a community to help heal painful memories and bring them together. Annie Romano has her heart set on starting her own business as a personal chef when she returns to Fairhaven, Washington, with her young daughter Emma. But her business gets off to a slow start, and she must search for a part-time job to help make ends meet. When her former employer and bakery-owner, Irene Jameson, has a health crisis and needs a live-in caregiver, Irene’s grandson offers Annie the job. Motivated by her love for Irene, Annie puts aside her own plans and moves in to care for Irene. Consumed by his work as marketing director for a hotel chain and painful memories from the past, Alex Jameson only plans to stay in Fairhaven until issues with his grandmother’s care and the future of her struggling bakery are settled. He doesn’t seem to realize how much he needs faith, family, or love. But the deeper meaning of the holiday season, his grandmother and her matchmaking friends, and one fatherless little girl start pulling at his heartstrings . . . just in time for Annie and Alex to enjoy a very special Christmas.

Hi Friends, I'm excited to share this third and final book in the Bayside Treasures Series with you! I loved writing a series set in the Pacific Northwest since I'm originally from Oregon. Snowflake Sweethearts is heartwarming holiday story with a tender romance and sweet inspiration. Single mom Annie Romano returns to her hometown with the dream of starting her own business as a personal chef and supporting her young daughter. But when a dear friend has a health crisis she steps in to care for her. And that brings her face to face with a man she loved in the past, but who left her behind. It will take the love of friends and family to help heal painful memories and bring Annie and Alex together at Christmas.
The setting is perfect as the holidays draw near with hopes of new adventures and healing from the past. Annie is a wonderful character who has dreams of starting her own business. I loved how much she desired to make it on her own and provide for her darling daughter Emma.
Coming back to Fairhaven, Washington gives Annie hope of being successful, but things change when an unexpected emergency sends her to face with someone she hoped to avoid. I liked how Annie helped a dear friend in her time of need and put her own dream aside. Irene is a delightful addition to the story and I could picture her as a grandmother who loves life and wants to help others. She is full of wisdom and love for God.
Alex is high strung at times and seems to take on the world. He is torn between his job and finding the right person to help care for his grandmother, Irene. I did want to tell Alex to take a deep breath and ensure him that God has everything under control. The author does a great job of putting Alex and Annie back in each other’s lives. Their relationship will have bumps along the way and a journey to find peace and love.
The story is filled with wonderful examples of God’s word that leaves Alex thinking about his life. Has he become so consumed with success that he forgot about what is really important? I loved how the author showed two people struggling with their feelings with each other while trying not to be selfish. The faith element is eloquently woven throughout the story with an emphasis on listening to His direction. This is a wonderful Christmas story that reminds us of what is important; faith, family trust and freedom from past hurts.
I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.
Annie Romano returns to Fairhaven, Washington, to raise her 5-year-old daughter. She’s starting a business as a personal chef, but it’s taking time and effort to build a clientele and she finds she needs another job to make ends meet for Emma. Back in high school she worked part time at Jameson’s Bakery, so she stops in there to see the owner, her elderly friend, Irene, and ask for a job. It’s clear Irene can’t afford another employee, though, and before the conversation gets going too far, Irene has a heart attack on the spot.
Annie has no choice but to call Irene’s grandson, Alex, who lives in San Francisco. Annie had a secret crush on Alex back in the day, and she really doesn’t want to see him again–not with Emma, the proof of some poor choices she’s made. But Alex is focused on his grandmother and offers Annie a job as a live in caretaker and chef for Irene. Annie is desperate (and loves both Irene and Alex) so agrees.
Torn between needing to return to SF and find out if the rumors about hotel mergers are true–and what affect they’d have on his job–and his desire to care for his grandmother, Alex lingers in Fairhaven and begins to see Annie for who she is. But it takes a little girl who craves a daddy and some matchmaking from Irene and her friends to bring these matters of the heart to the forefront.
Is this not a gorgeous cover for a Christmas romance novel? Every time I saw this cover I knew I wanted to read this book. I also love the title, Snowflake Sweethearts, so when the author offered a few giveaways on her Facebook page, I popped my name on the list and was delighted to win a digital copy.
I fully expected to enjoy this novel, and I did. What I didn’t expect was to read it all in one sitting, but once I’d opened the file, I just sort of kept going. It’s not that the story was riveting in a suspenseful way, just that the warm emotions evoked first by the cover were equally present in the novel. If you’re looking for a sweet Christmas read, I recommend this book.
Snowflake Sweethearts takes place in a charming town of Fairhaven, Washington, where Annie Romano previously had a teenage crush on handsome Alex Jameson. Although Annie had moved away and unexpectedly became a single mother, she returns to Fairfaven with her five year old daughter, Emma, in hope to start a new life as a personal chef.
Upon visiting Alex's grandmother, Irene, at the family bakery, there was a swift turn of events. No sooner had Annie been joyfully chatting with Irene when suddenly the plump aging woman clutched her chest and crumbled to the floor.
Following Irene's heart attack, Alex temporarily arrives from San Francisco to Fairhaven seeking a live-in caregiver for his ailing grandmother. During hospital visits, Alex and Annie are reacquainted. One conversation leads to another when Alex hires Annie to move into his grandmother's house just in time to bake a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner.
Once they are both living under the same roof, sparks begin to fly and romance is in the air. Gradually, Alex realizes he must choose between his big-city career or Annie who has melted his heart. In the meanwhile, Annie deeply loves Alex, but is torn between what God truly wants for her life. Will Alex break her heart, again? More importantly, is she willing to risk love one more time?
This heartwarming story shares how God powerfully works behind the scene to strengthen faith and reignite love. Snowflake Sweethearts is perfect for the holiday season and will brighten up your cold, winter day. I thoroughly enjoyed this captivating romance!
When hurtful memories influence current decisions, life can be tough for the main characters in this book. This is a very sweet story of learning to trust again, having devotion to family and friends and finding love. The author has characters of different ages in the story and I enjoy reading about people from various seasons of life. From young to not so young, these are people I want to read about again and again. Great read. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required

SUMMARY: Bringing her daughter to the one place she feels safe, single mother Annie Romano returns to Fairhaven, Washington. Though hoping to start a new life as a personal chef, Annie accepts a different job. Alex Jameson, the handsome man she secretly loved as a teenager, needs a live-in caregiver for his ailing grandmother. A big-city workaholic in town temporarily, Alex doesn't seem to realize how much he needs family—or love. But the holiday season, his grandmother's matchmaking friends and one fatherless little girl start pulling at both Annie's and Alex's heartstrings. Just in time for the most special Christmas ever.
REVIEW: The main characters Annie and Alex each battled tragedies from their past and wrong choices. Each also though faith-filled hadn't been able to forgive themselves for their wrong choices. I liked the way the author showed that forgiving ourselves is important to moving forward to a better stronger life. I look forward to reading more from this author as well as the two other books involving Gram and her Bayside Treasure friends.
Snowflake Sweethearts is a nice Christmas story, very well written. I really enjoyed reading Annie & Alex's story. I enjoyed how both cared for Alex's grandma, Irene. And it was sweet how Alex fell in love with Emma, Annie's daughter, & she with him. Both Annie & Alex had some pain from their past to work through. I feel like the pain, & the process to work through them, was presented in a very real way. I'm not a fan of books where the characters fight & have misunderstanding that they wont talk over. I was pleased that Annie & Alex, for the most part, talked things over.
This turned out to be disappointing for me. I skimmed the last two thirds because I was alternately bored and frustrated by how sensitive and easily angered the two protagonists were. Lots of unnecessary misunderstandings and hurt feelings caused by jumping to conclusions and refusing to communicate openly.
Given the opportunity to review this book by Carrie Turansky, I couldn't pass it up, despite a full blog calendar!
Snowflake Sweethearts is a sweet romance of second chances.
Brought together when Alex's grandmother Irene experienced a heart attack, Alex and Annie struggled to trust each other. Abandonment issues from their past threatened to keep them apart.
I loved Annie's faith, which she returned to after making some mistakes while in college. She knew that God would not abandon her and sought Him and His wisdom in the hard times of her life.
This story has many tender moments. Some fun scenes made me smile, such as when Emma lost her first tooth and the ice skating escapade.
If you enjoy Hallmarky Christmas romance, be sure to pick up a copy of Snowflake Sweethearts!
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
Annie and Alex have been friends since high school. Alex came home when he found out that his grandmother had a heart attack. She needs a caregiver and Annie and her daughter need a place to stay. Also the bakery that his grandmother owns is in need of major repair work. Together they decide that they want to do a renovation of the business to make it more profitable but they need to talk Alex into it.
This book was a lot of fun to read. The Treasures are a group of Irene's (the grandmother) friends and they are quite the matchmakers. I really enjoyed the book but the last ten to fifteen pages had me on the edge of my seat.
Check it out, I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.
This was cute and I liked it, but it was not as Christmasy as some other Christmas books I’ve read lately. At least half of the book takes place leading up to Thanksgiving so it made me wish I had read this one sooner.
The romance was pretty good. I liked that they each had aspects of themselves that they needed to work on. I was a little annoyed that every male character seemed to be in love with Annie. The main love interest, his friend from high school, even a random police officer that pulls her over, every guy wants this woman. It was a little hard to believe. I didn’t like that Annie never really told her daughter the truth about her father - but insisted on telling her about Santa and the Easter Bunny. I get that she’s five, but she when she starts describing a random guy to her classmates as her father, some intervention and explanation is required.
I didn’t know that this author has written three connecting romances set in the same town, but maybe I’ll pick those up at some point because I liked this overall.

Snowflake Sweethearts a sweet story of Annie and Alex. Annie a young mother of a five year old little girl finds herself taking care of Alex's grandmother after she has a heart attack. Alex a city marketing boy for an office returns to his hometown to check up on his grandmother not knowing that Annie was there.
As teenagers Annie had a crush on him but after a painful accident that took away his parents and brother he goes looking for more in a career leaving Annie behind.
Now they are both with the help of his grandmother trying to overcome their fears and insecurities and letting God's peace, love and hope in him direct them to the path they should take to their happiness.
A sweet story set in Washington, is a sweet read at anytime, especially the Christmas season. Enjoyed it and can't wait to read the other two books in this series.
"Snowflake Sweethearts (Bayside Treasures Series Book 3) by Carrie Turansky is a wonderful story. I have not read the other two books in the series, and I really enjoyed it so I believe all three books could be read as a stand alone.
Yes, this book is a love story as the title suggests but it is also a story about how God wants to heal the past and make our future more than we could ever hope for.
This is a story about second chances at love.
I don't have a favorite character in this book because they all are my favorites.
I am glad that Alex and Annie made the choices they made when they could of have made different choices. This book clearly shows that choosing love is the best for everyone.
I received a complimentary copy by the author. These opinions are my own.
Snowflake Sweethearts by Carrie Turansky Bayside Treasures Series Book 3 Annie Romano has made a few errors in judgment during her young life. She regrets never telling an old friend what he meant to her before he left for college. Annie also regrets bad choices in her own college days, although she doesn't regret Emma, her daughter. After seven years of being gone she has now returned to her hometown, Fairhaven, Washington. God blesses her with an unexpected job and a home to live in when her friend needs someone to move in and take care of her, so her grandson can go back to his world of climbing the career ladder without worrying about his grandma.
Alex Jameson took two weeks vacation to come and get things settled with his grandma after she has a heart attack. She’s the only family he has left but his career is in California, not Washington. His old friend Annie is there to take care of his grandma and he can go back to work after Thanksgiving. Or can he? As his life starts unraveling, Alex sees that he’s left much behind to chase his dreams, what will he choose in the end?
The Bayside Treasure friends, a group of four older women live in Fairhaven and do their part as matchmakers. Alex and Annie both struggle with the past invading the future. Losing loved ones or watching them walk away have caused them to falter in their faith at times and make assumptions that the past will only keep repeating itself. Can they put their trust in God and let Him guide their futures? These books are pretty much stand alone, they just take place in the same town and people. Seeking His Love and A Man to Trust are the first two books. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Annie is a personal chef who has returned to her hometown with her young daughter, Emma. Annie has suffered the loss of important people in her life. Alex was Annie's teenage crush so imagine her surprise when their friendship is rekindled after he comes to town following his grandmother's heart attack! Annie and Alex are both strong characters but they need to deal with their childhood losses. One of my favorite quotes from the book was "forgiveness wasn't a one-time event, it was an ongoing process. He compared it to an onion, saying each time another layer was peeled away and painful memories returned, we needed to forgive again and release that pain to the Lord. And finally, layer by layer, the pain would fade, and forgiveness would be complete." You will enjoy coming along as Annie and Alex work to keep his grandmother's bakery a profitable venture and find love along the way. I received an advance e-copy of Snowflake Sweethearts from the author. This is my honest opinion.
Snowflake Sweethearts was the first of Carrie Turansky’s books I’ve read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Annie Romano, the heroine, has a little girl to provide for so she returns to her hometown to start over where it’s safe. She puts her plans and her life on hold to help care for an older woman and that’s where the adventure begins. Sometimes it’s the bumps in the road that steer us toward the right path and give us a chance to examine our hearts and motives. That’s exactly what happens to Annie in Snowflake Sweethearts. It’s what happens to Alex Jameson, too, when his heart opens to Annie. Carrie’s characters deal with real-life problems. They may not always make the right choices all the time but supporting characters lead the way and gently influence their decisions. Carrie’s sweet heart shines through in her writing and I can’t wait to read more of her books.
Here’s the book’s blurb: Bringing her daughter to the one place she feels safe, single mother Annie Romano returns to Fairhaven, Washington.
Going home should mean refuge, but for Annie Romano, it is a reminder of all that she loved and lost—or perhaps never really possessed. Mistakes firmly behind her, Annie returns to Fair Haven, Washington, determined to begin a new life as a personal chef.
But everything changes when an old heartthrob’s grandmother finds herself in desperate need of a caregiver. Annie agrees to help Irene, but vows not to let her heart become entangled again with Alex, Irene’s handsome big-city bachelor grandson. After all, Annie now has Emma to consider, her beautiful five-year-old daughter who desperately wants a daddy.
But being near Alex 24/7 strikes at all of Annie’s vulnerabilities, and she finds her heart on shaky ground.
In the years since he left Fair haven, something in Alex has changed, too. But even he can’t define just what that is, or if it’s enough to get beyond his past. What must he do to reach for what he truly wants—has always wanted? A little matchmaking on the part of his grandmother and her friends—the Bayside Treasures—and a dash of Christmas magic might be all that’s needed for a new year miracle.
I loved Carrie Turansky’s latest book. No matter what else happens in the world I know Carrie’s stories will lift my heart and lighten my load. We all need a little sunshine, a sweet romance, and a high moral and spiritual bar to keep us going. Thank you, Carrie, for offering exactly that in “Snowflake Sweethearts!” This has HALLMARK written all over it!
I loved this book - it was a great book to read over the holidays! I love Carrie's books - they are always uplifting and wonderful stories! I really enjoyed the characters in Snowflake Sweethearts - their histories, the way they interacted together, the different things they were dealing with. Learning to trust the Lord and others was a big theme throughout the book. If you're looking for an enjoyable and inspiring story, be sure to pick this book up!!
Snowflake Sweethearts is a heartwarming, down to earth story about a single mother who returns to her hometown after a seven year absence. Down on her luck, Annie is desperate to find a job and settle down with her daughter Emma. She reconnects with her high school crush, Alex Jameson, a man who is quite cynical about love. Can the spirit of the season bring these two together? This is a great love story. I really enjoyed the holiday aspects and the idyllic town of Fairhaven.
I just completed reading ,Carrie Turansky's Bayside Treasures Series and enjoyed all three books. I especially liked how the author portrayed Christian values in these sweet love stories. The Bayside Treasures, as the group of four older women friends call themselves, do a bit of matchmaking and give good counsel to the younger adults facing difficult situations. Set in the Pacific Northwest small city of Bellingham, on beautiful Puget Sound, a place I have visited. I highly recommend these books.
From unrequited crushes to steadfast love...and all the drama in between. The characters have to deal with their pasts in order to move forward in their relationship. Well done!
A sweet romance about forgiveness and new beginnings. One of my favorite authors that bring spiritual truths throughout the story. A good read with life help! A story of Alex and Annie, making mistakes or hurts from the past they learn to trust again.
