Adventurer Lara Croft visits exotic locales in search of the world's greatest treasure. From the archives of Top Cow Productions, one of the leading publishers of comic books in North America, Bandai Entertainment is proud to release a new series of graphic novels featuring the best of Lara Croft's adventures!
The second tankoban was better. It had rather short and largely uninteresting storylines, but it had good artwork and the guts to finish off a particularly annoying character. This one, though, starts off strong and then becomes muddled and lame with the (unnecessary) crossing over with Witchblade and EVO, which the average Tomb Raider fan isn't going to give a sphincter's curse about. The whole crossover business is a big, contrived, convoluted mess and really brings the experience of reading the book way down. The final third, in which Lara uses her might AND her mind to defeat an Egyptian god, is a vast improvement and feels more like the Lara we know from the games, even if, like most comic book characters, she is given WAY too much to say during moments when she should be in action. On the whole, though, this isn't what we want to see when we read about Lady Lara. We want Tomb Raider, not The Top Cow Trio.

Ehhhnnhhh. I'd like to be more articulate there, but that's pretty much where this one left me.
Unlike some reviewers, I liked the artwork (which for me is half of what I judge a graphic novel on) - yes, it's comic-bookish, but that doesn't really bother me.
The storytelling, on the other hand, I found confusing and difficult to follow. The panels were just too busy, and I honestly had no idea what was going on in places. I think I can probably give the rest of this series a miss
I enjoyed the third tankobon, but not as much as the first or second. This one contains the "Path of the Tiger" story line, which I didn't really care for. It also contains part of the Witchblade crossover, which turned out interesting even if it was a little confusing. Still, anything with Tomb Raider is amazing (except for Angel of Darkness. TR fans will know what I mean).
