The Irish Sex Fairy believes sex will cure all problems…
So says Great-aunt Maeve, owner of the Irish Sex Fairy, a sex shop in Kilkenny, California. When stressed-out Keara visits Maeve after a hostage situation where she was held at gunpoint, she’s ready to try anything to get over the flashbacks and nightmares and intense guilt over her role in the incident.
Enter sexy Shane Dunstan, Kilkenny’s deputy police chief and old flame of Keara’s. With black hair and blue eyes and a body a girl could easily lose herself in for a lifetime, he’s perfect for putting Maeve’s remedy to the test. He’s more than happy to help. A lot.
But while all the sizzling sex does seem to make Keara feel better, it creates a whole new set of problems. Keara needs to overcome her fears and get back to her career, but that means leaving Shane and Maeve. And when the past comes back to haunt her in a terrifying encounter, she’s about to find out just how effective Maeve’s cure-all is.

DNF. When H meets h again, he is buying a box of condoms in her aunt's sex shop and proceeds to have a night out with "many rounds of vigorous hot sex with sexy blonde" OW. Ugh just killed the romance for me:(

With the title I thought I was going to hate it. I am Irish so reading about all things Irish is interesting especially if they are written by non-Irish authors. Great book. I should have known it would be as I have read other books by this author and really enjoyed them also.
Sex is the cure for a great many of your problems. At least that’s what Keara’s great-aunt Maeve, owner of the sex toy shop, The Irish Sex Fairy Shop, believes. Keara’s not so sure about her aunt’s wisdom, but after being held hostage at gunpoint during a robbery, Keara needs to escape her life in L.A. and spend a few weeks in the quiet town of Kilkenny with her unconventional aunt. Stressed out and suffering from a constant battery of nightmares and flashbacks, Keara’s willing to try anything to find peace once more. When Shane, deputy police chief of Kilkenny and Keara’s old flame, walks into Maeve’s store and back into Keara’s life, she wonders if maybe her aunt’s advice is worth taking after all. But Keara finds it hard to keep things simply sexual with Shane. The problem is, Keara’s life is in L.A.; so how can she stay in Kilkenny with Shane?
What I wouldn’t give to live in the charming, Ireland-inspired town of Kilkenny Kelly Jamieson brought to life in Irish Sex Fairy. I admit, the town felt so idyllic I fell in love with it every bit as much as I did the story’s characters. From Keara to Shane to Maeve and more, each person in Irish Sex Fairy came alive on the page for me, which is why I enjoyed the story so much. I wasn’t able to stop reading the book once I started because I liked each character so much and wanted to see how events would turn out with them. Of course, it would be remiss of me to write about a book called Irish Sex Fairy without mentioning, well, the sex. Ms. Jamieson certainly knows how to heat up the page, blending eroticism with tenderness in ways that made me sigh and – if I may be honest – envy Keara.
Irish Sex Fairy is everything its title suggests and more. It’s warm, sexy, and fun, but it also deals with the fallout Keara must deal cope with after a trauma such as the one she experienced. In the end, the most I can say is that I absolutely loved Irish Sex Fairy and will definitely be reading more of Ms. Jamieson’s work!
This book was SO CUTE. Just the thought that there might be a small town in Northern California that is trying to stay as Irish as possible is just the stuff that dreams are made of! This book is not what I expected at all. It was absolutely deliciously romantic, sexy, hot and WONDERFUL. Yes, the plot was predictable, but sometimes that's what the doctor orders. I loved all the flirting and chemistry between Keara and Shane...and I have to admit that my favorite part was when she brought the bag of toys from Aunt Maeve's shop to bed with them and used the Boy Toy on Shane. *giggle* TOO freaking CUTE! If you are in the mood for a deliciously sexy and romantic story with just a little bit of a hint of danger and suspense in it, this book is just what the Irish Sex Fairy ordered!
I'm a big fan of all of Kelly's books. It was fun to read one of her earlier books, she has a fun way to suck in the reader. This book was full of emotion, and you find yourself worried for Keara and all she has been through. She's lucky to have such support from her Great-Aunt Maeve. She's also pretty lucky to reconnect with sexy Shane, someone who truly cared for her years ago. I love the name of the book, and love that it's the name of Aunt Maeve's sex toy shop. Definitely a fun, emotional, and sexy read!
3.5 stars. Very cute little story. Quirky characters. A great-aunt who runs a sex-shop and is revered by the town. A great guy and a great, yet traumatized gal. I enjoyed it.
