The Essential Book of Auras: Protect and Strengthen Your Energy Body

Rate this book
Since the late 19th century, Kirlian photography has shown us coronas around people and objects. For those who had been arguing for the existence of aura bodies around people, this was an exciting development. For the first time, you could see the different colours emanating from people and note gaps in the auric field. You could also test what different thoughts and emotions did to a person's aura. Worldwide, there have been different ideas about these subtle bodies that surround us. Classic alternative health writers have interpreted what the different colours mean and how many layers there are within our 'auric egg'. In this book, you will discover what those layers are, how they affect us and our sense of well-being, and how you can work through meditation and spiritual practices to strengthen and protect your aura from psychic attack.- Classical western and eastern ideas about the aura- Meditations to strengthen your aura- Everyday techniques to ensure your auric egg is protected from others

Calm Demeanor of Auras: How to Balance and Cleanse Your Energy Body
In the book Auras, the author goes over the rudimentary topics about how to control your body and helps us fully understand it. Hamraz Ahsan starts with a little story about how over the past several years he has engaged in meditative practices that enabled him to explore what energies in a human body look and feel like. Hamraz learned these practices from multiple cultures, eastern and western, and wanted to put the knowledge out in the world because learning about your Aura is an important step in controlling your body. Hamraz uses his years of knowledge to write about the dynamic and wondrous body of light that lives inside our dense body and since it is not particularly possible to see that energy with our naked eye, he wrote this book to show us that we can regularly sense those energies, even tho we cannot see them.
Hamraz explains many topics in this book and explains each of their origins including what religion knows best about it. He says “have you ever met someone and taken an instant dislike to them, before they've even said or done anything to you? Conversely, have you ever met someone and known within seconds that you’ll get along? Or have you ever felt at home and never wanted to leave?” Well, these are all examples of your energy body giving you feedback on the people you meet and the places you enter. Your body can know and tell you many things going on around you if you listen. This was very surprising to me because your body does as it tells you everything you need to take care of it but as I kept reading it made more and more sense.
Another meaningful concept he wrote about is Auras. What are Auras? Aura means breeze or breath, in the ancient Greek language, which came into use around the end of the 19th century. It drew on aspects of wisdom found in Hinduism, Buddhism, and western esoteric thought. It has also been speculated that the halos shown around the heads of religious figures in Christian iconography could be there to indicate the radiant purity of their auras. Hamraz says “The tradition I follow, that of Sufism, believes that we experience the divine when our energy body is in alignment with the vibrational force of the universe. This can be achieved by chanting the 99 names of God or through dance or meditation.” We can choose whatever way to understand it, define it, symbolize it or feel it, our auras, and the auras of the people around us to ensure we attract the best people and the best outcomes for us. When I read about this I realized taking care of our aura is very important because it plays a part in almost everything in life.
A quote I like from the book is: “If the Milky Way were not within me, how should I have seen it or know it” Kahlil Gibran
There are lessons and nebulous ways of life, some can even say life hacks that Hamraz teaches us. For example, he says “everything is responsive” Everything has an aura, irrespective of whether it is animate or inanimate. it's alive and responsive. If we accept that everything has an aura and that this aura is in constant interplay with all other auras of things, people, and places with which it interacts, then you can see how important it is to ensure that you only have around you those auras that you align with. Another ‘hack’ is Praise don't criticize. Ahsan says “ one of the key ways in which Huna practitioners, in the tradition followed by Serge Kahili King, acknowledge the tenet that everything is alive and responsive is to praise rather than criticize.” He explains that this is a good way to come into harmony with all the auras of what surrounds us. When I read this I realized how much we criticize small things. When we accidentally hit the wall while walking or when we drop an object on our body, we curse and get angry and fuss about it, instead, we should accept it and move on. Why ruin your mood and language over something so little. It was fortuitous and predisposed so there's no point in feeling reprehensible because you should be happy rather than angry.
Another topic Hamraz teaches us about is chakras. There are 7 chakras or energy points within our body, hamraz says a blocked chakra can cause problems in the aspect of life related to that particular chakra. For example, the Root chakra, it's at the base of the spine, if this chakra is blocked you will find it difficult to trust people and will feel insecure, get nightmares, and have problems with your lower limbs. Another one is the heart chakra, located in the middle of the chest, this is where compassion, love, and kindness exist. An imbalance here will stop you from feeling and giving love. A lot of us have blocked chakras and have been suffering these problems without knowing. “ The unconditional nature of love, you should give, is hinted at in the meaning of the Sanskrit word ‘Anahata’ which means unhurt. I think this word is beautiful and should be used more because it’s saying “not hurt” as in the feeling of love is like not hurting In conclusion, as Hamraz takes us into detail with so many informative topics, I believe the reader understands why we all need to learn about ourselves and our bodies
When Hamraz tells us how to do certain practices during the book, I think the reader would enjoy getting up and trying them, such as cleansing, yoga, making tea, and meditation. I think anyone with a passion for learning more about themselves or more about the spiritual community would love this book because hamraz explains everything very clearly even for beginners and makes you feel comfortable with his relaxed and friendly manner. This book was far more informative and easy to understand than other spiritual books I've read and I highly recommend it to beginners willing to educate themselves on these topics.

Nifty, easy to read little book if you're interested in getting your feet wet into the study of auras and chakras.

I knew absolutely nothing going in. I determined that it's not my cup of tea so it's unlikely I'll go into further study, but there were still a number of valuable takeaways that anyone, regardless of religious or spiritual beliefs, should find worthwhile.

One is the simple practice of expressing gratitude for small things you take for granted. It's a bit silly that it's taken me so long to figure this out, and gratitude is hardly a new concept, but it's so neatly laid out here that it stuck this time. For example, today I fueled up my car (ouch) at a busy Sam's Club. The line was surprisingly short for the pump that's on the tank side of my car, which I don't think has ever happened. So I just kind of said "I'm grateful for the short line" and then, no joking, the cars at both pumps ahead of me finished nearly at the same time, meaning I could pull up to the far end and let the car behind me pull in behind (had I not waiting for the 2 cars to finish, the car behind me would have had to squeeze through a tight space). So I felt gratitude for the opportunity to do something nice for someone else who probably had no idea.

I also really liked the concept of answering three questions before engaging in negative communication: 1 - is it true? 2 - is it necessary? and 3 - is it kind? I tried this at work and feel it saved me from reacting to someone who threw my team member under the bus. While it was true and possibly necessary, there was no way it could be kind. Sure enough, the next day this same person reached out and was very nice. Turns out a technical issue was at fault! So, there it was, I was grateful for this little reminder that let me give this incident a chance to sort itself out tidily.

Yeah, I know this should be a book review instead of a story about pumping gas and not getting pissy at a colleague, but since the metaphysical stuff is not quite in my area of interest, I wanted to show how folks like me can still find this handy book worthwhile.

I am enjoying the Elements books! I knew nothing about Auras and found this helpful. I really enjoyed the illustrations and the varied information. I thought some of the beginning pieces of the book could have been explained a little better but overall I think this is a good, beginner book.

There is not a lot of depth here. It's a short, light-reading type book, but for what it is, it's a great introduction with the basics of what the human bio-field or Aura is, what it does, and how to care for it. Several physical exercises (yoga, etc.), meditations, and tips are provided that make this little book practical as well as informative.
