Jamie is an author, wife, mother, reader and coffee lover who loves to take you on an emotional ride with her books.
When she was younger, it was her best friend who got her into writing in the first place. School was boring? Afternoon off? Fanfic writing was what they would do for hours to no end. Publishing, though, hadn't been anything on Jamie's radar until she woke up one day from a very vivid dream. It was one of those you can't get rid of, so she ended up writing it down. And writing some more on it. Until a full story started to emerge. It was her best friend who ended up pushing her to take the next step and put the book out there.
Ever since then, Jamie has been writing all kinds of different stories, all centuring around women or girls fighting against their inner (or sometimes outer) demons. The stories range from Young Adult fantasy, to women's fiction or contemporary romance. Whatever idea comes to Jamie's mind.
When she's not writing, Jamie can be found spending time with her friends and family, sitting on her deck enjoying an Iced Latte, watching one of her million TV shows or simply sleeping (cause let's be honest, sleep is hard to come by with small children). She lives in beautiful Germany where she's currently conjuring up her next book.
No. Just no, no, no. This is one of my hot buttons. The secret baby trope is so iffy for me. iIf there is a logical explanation I'm willing to try it but if the reason is the mother is just thinking ocnly of herself, then no. If she's willing to deprive her son of his father and the father is a good and caring guy, even though they are young then no. If the hero isn't even given a chance to know he has a son, then no. If the mother/bitch breaks up with hero when she finds out she's pregnant and doesn't tell him he's going to be a father, in fact doesn't even really give him an explanation as to why she's breaking up with even though he's declared his for her then no. If, when he does find out he's a father and doesn't sue her ass off for custody, then no. If he forgives her in TWO days for her cruel deception , then no. And if you write a child who is FIVE as talks and act like he's age twelve then no.
A 2nd chance romance with an unknown pregnancy. Gavin a football player from the US was scouted along with 2 of his friends to play for a UK club. He bumps into the girl who left him 6 years ago and later he finds out she has a five year old kid. The book is very surface level and states what is going on but I felt it lacked depth in both the story and the emotions of the plot.
I understand that as an author you've only got so many words. So why not cut out the Nick parts and keep the meeting to the supermarket and signing. That would free up space for a more realistic reaction to someone learning they have been denied their child for five years. He didn't even hit the roof just started blaming himself. She didn't even apologize about taking the decision away from him.
