Picked it up at the library during the Olympics, because why not? The book is a series of one-page essays by various women who have achieved success in sports, mostly former Olympians, each accompanied by a short paragraph about the woman's accomplishments. Some women had several essays in the book, but they were scattered. The whole effect is very choppy, and you never feel like you get a deep understanding of anyone. Also, I would have enjoyed the book more if it had included more recent athletes who I could actually remember watching on TV. (Though that's not really a fair criticism because the book was published in 2000.)
