Cracking the Media Literacy Code

Understanding Social Media

Rate this book
Everybody thinks they can handle social media. They're only on with their friends. Everything on social media is real. Except that it isn't. Easy-to-understand language, simple infographics, and evocative photos show kids what's real and what's fake on the various social media platforms, and how to tell the difference.

I read this book as part of 2024's Read Harder Challenge #17. Read a book about Media Literacy. This is a short book, just 32 pages, but provides history, a glossary, critical thinking questions, sources for further exploration and an index. Also in this series - Understanding Advertising, Understanding the News and Understanding Propaganda.
