I thought this book was simply great! It has pictures that clearly illustrate everything that can be confusing. It also has humor mixed in to keep you interested and reading on. The basic layout of the book itself also seems to be designed to keep you interested in the book.

I have a mixed opinion of this book. In its favour, it attempts to deal with traditional undead zombies and 'infected' humans (like in '28 Days Later' etc), it addresses many aspects of the zombie apocalypse problem, it is a good lengthy read, and the book does contain some decent ideas (that aren't dependent on having easy access to guns). However, there are problems with the book that outweigh these positives in my opinion.

Firstly, the book is absolutely littered with grammatical errors, formatting problems and sloppy mistakes (I found at least one per page before I gave up counting). Secondly, the majority of the information is not very well researched and consists of mostly obvious statements. Thirdly, there is too much of a focus on personal gain, rather than survival of the human species, in some parts of the book (for example, the suggestion of burning text books so that rival human groups cannot use them, rather than preserving them for the future). Lastly, and most importantly, if anyone ever relies on this book in a real zombie outbreak, they will probably end up dead pretty quickly. For example, recommending that people fight zombies in confined areas does limit the number that can attack you at once, but it allows you to easily become surrounded and trapped, and attacked at close range. Why sacrifice the two major advantages of manoeuvrability and ability to attack with ranged weapons that living humans have?

So in summary, read this book for fun if you can put up with the poor style, but don't rely on it when there's no more room in Hell and the undead walk the Earth...

The funnies mix of scientific survival guide seriousness and badass zombie plot line you can find in one book. Very fun and entertaining read if you forgive some scientific far-fetched statements at the beginning of the book, but hey, it is about entertainment after all. Nevertheless, you will be theoretically preparing for the oncoming zombie mayhem.

While I did like the book overall, it is sadly lacking in edititing, riddled with gramatical and syntax error, and halfway thru (when I finally gave up reading) I thought if I saw another broken sentence fragment I'd jump into the zombie hordes to end it all...
