An innovative alphabet book invites small children to imitate twenty-six different animals as they box, leap, and stretch their way from A to Z, and each spread features an animal and children in imitating poses.
KAREN PANDELL is the author of the first book about this elusive dachshund, WHERE'S STRETCH?, as well as I LOVE YOU BABY, FROM HEAD TO TOE! and SAINT FRANCIS SINGS TO BROTHER SUN. She has also written several other books for children, including I LOVE YOU, SUN/I LOVE YOU, MOON, illustrated by Tomie dePaola.
This book is a great book to use in the classroom; the illustrations of the book are very engaging; it uses real-life pictures of children and animals which makes it more exciting and catchy for the children. This book has an action for each letter of the alphabet, which children could imitate and copy and do so while the teacher is reading. Also, this is an excellent book to use for science; the teacher could use different animal images when teaching about animals. Finally, the book has great vocabulary; it provides a different action to each letter; it is another fun way to learn the alphabet.
I genuinely enjoyed this book! It was an interesting read, and I liked how the book used examples of real animals. There are many ways to implement this book in the classroom. This book can be used to simply teach the alphabet, it is a great review, it can even work to introduce children to different animals .
This book is soooo fun for kids... especially preschool age, maybe 2-7. We went through this book in preschool and the kids absolutely loved it... it involves a lot of action... one for every letter of the alphabet. This is a fun one to own... we forgot we had it for a while.
