Dying was just the beginning… I know the truth of what I am. A rare and dangerous supernatural that was believed to be hunted to extinction. But now what? On one hand, I have the three men who love me and a chance at a future with them. My shy shifter. My royal vampire. And my dangerous half-breed. On the other hand, I have my father and the mysterious group he belongs to. With them, I have a chance to find out everything, every answer to every question I’ve ever had about myself. And maybe even find safety in a world too dangerous for my kind. I just have to betray my men. The three handsome men hurt me once upon a time. They betrayed me and ruined my life. But now that I have the chance to do the same thing to them, why am I hesitating? Is it because something feels wrong about all of this? Or does this assassin have a softer heart than I thought? I don’t know, but either I’ll rise from the ashes, or burn.
MERCY'S RISE is a steamy paranormal reverse harem with a kickbutt heroine. This is a whychoose romance, meaning that our heroine doesn't have to choose between her guys.

I'm usually not the kind of girl liking books about assassins. I know we need those books and I know that all the tough women in the world deserve them, but I'm not a physically tough woman, so I usually prefer my girls a little less violent and less talented when it comes to killing and fighting. However, Lacey Carter Andersen is an amazing author and I loved the first two books in this trilogy. I was therefore quite excited when I got my arc for the third book!
Since it's been a little while since the previous book came out I needed a little time to remember everything that had happened in the previous books. Andersen made sure to included some short reminders though and within a few chapters I remembered everything again and could just lean back and enjoy the last book. There were quite some loose ends to tie up and there were some really big issues to solve.
What I loved most about this trilogy is the politics. There is much more to discover and I hope there might be more books planned in this world, because it feels like there are so many more stories and tales to tell. However, it's clear that there is a lot going on, that a lot of people have different wishes and needs and it's clear that some, especially old, customs won't be easily changed. I love how our characters have to think about how to achieve their goals.
I also really love the harem. Although it's amazing if characters grow and learn, I also love it when characters really love each other unconditionally. Even in the third book Mercy still hasn't learned that she could ask her guys for help, but they know and accept that. They know that it's up to them to keep an eye on her, to give her what she needs and to be there to protect her when she gets herself in trouble. It's a beautiful kind of love.
Great ending to an awesome series. Mercy knows what she is now and things are coming to a head with her father. Enemies have attacked and she wants to save her father and friends, but what if the enemy isn’t who she thinks they are.
Mercy leaves her guys to take care of things herself, but typical guys they follow her and it’s probably a good thing too. There’s a lot revealed about Mercy, her past, the parents who raised her and her actual parents and the heat is rising when it comes to the trouble Mercy and her guys will face. There’s some steamy scenes and lots of action and it was a great conclusion to the series.
I have loved this series and Mercy as a character and her men but was i expecting THAT Twist no i was not - The plot twists and turns in this series are amazing but that is an ending that you dont antcipate at all. So Enjoyable to read and so sad that this is teh End of Mercy's storey!
I'm not gonna lie come I was a little disappointed in this book. First, I thought it was weird that what happened to her parents made her dad tell her he loved her and apologize to her. It didn't make any sense that a parent that was so hateful to her her entire life would all of the sudden say he loved her. I'm sorry, but that was a bit much. And her response to her dad is to say, "I love you too". I just don't understand that level of forgiveness so quickly after a lifetime of emotional abuse from said person. I'm not saying that she couldn't forgive at some point in time. But that whole thing happened a little bit too fast. There would be no reason for her quick forgiveness when his behavior towards her had never changed. He cut her off, cruelly, and wanted nothing to do with her.
The next thing that disappointed me was the fact that she let herself get caught up in this relationship and stopped being the badass character I thought she was. She let Rion tell her she was going to marry him. What woman just caves the way that she did? She didn't even expect a proposal correctly? That's disappointing! It was also disappointing that the other 2 guys just went along with it and didn't seem to be upset because they would be there on the side, not married to her. Granted, they all end up together in the end. I still thought there should have been a little more emotional thought put into the fact that, the one guy she didn't have a prior relationship with, ends up being the one that gets to marry her. That brings me to my disappointment about Rion becoming king and so easily being swayed by his dad, to have no stipulations in accepting the kingship. That whole part really bugged me because it wasn't good closure for me. I don't know that I thought the king should have been killed off. But he wasn't a good guy. So him getting to ride off into the sunset getting everything he wanted was irksome. I feel like the ending was tied up way too quickly after all the build up. I'm not saying it was a bad story. It was a decent series. I was just a little disappointed with the ending. It was still a quick fun read.
The Guild of Assassins series was crazy, unique, and funny. Main character Mercy has been on one heck of a wild ride. Lacey wraps Mercy's story with Mercy's Rise, the final book in the series.
This was a pretty quick read with a fast pace and a lot of action, I mean, it's filled with assassins, royals, and magic, so of course it was. Mercy hasn't changed too much, she still rushes into situations, tries her best to protect everyone around her, and has a great personality (seriously, this book wad hilarious). The one thing that did change with her was how she sees herself, she isn't letting other people issues with her effect her anymore and she may have gotten the closure she needed.
Of course the guys came along for the ride. Rian, Ares, and Bash have all fallen hard for Mercy and now she's stuck with them. They love Mercy and want to protect her from her worst impulses, which is hard but the bond they have with Mercy is something that Mercy surely needed in her life.
The story wrapped up in an interesting way that I didn't see coming but all the lose threads did come together to create an explosive ending. I loved getting more background history on Mercy, things she didn't even know. Also a lot of people came to terms with their different relationships, Ares and his father, Rian and his, Mercy and all the guys. This world was an interesting one and I wouldn't mind getting another story set in it, with a few familiar faces of course.
Mercy's Rise was such a fun read. I enjoyed seeing Mercy get the happy ever after that she deserved. I swear the last chapter was one of the sweetest endings ever. GoA was my first ever read by Lacey and I'm already ready to dive back into another series of hers.
Mercy finally gets her family and her happy ending! So many twists and turns continue in this final installment of Mercy’s journey. Mercy learns the final pieces to the puzzle of her past and her relationships strengthen and evolve with her guys as well as her family (old and new). Her eyes are opened to a past full of deceit and lies, as well as heartache and the foundation for new beginnings. She and her guys have a lot of history to sort through with all the supernatural factions to get to the truth they need to save them all, especially Mercy from extinction. While Mercy is reeling from the fact of her birth father’s possible existence and him being the leader of a vengeful group of their kind out for blood, she and others in her circle face difficult losses due to the war between the last of the phoenixes and the other supernaturals they hold responsible for their capture, torture, and near extinction. The phoenixes are out for revenge and will not stop until everyone’s family lines that had connections with their past tragedies have been eliminated once and for all. But do they know the whole truth or are they being led by a string of falsities that could end them all. There’s a huge power struggle and Mercy and her guys are stuck right in the middle of it all. Add in Rain’s upcoming coronation, a hopeful solution to Mercy’s constant danger, and plans set in motion to end the war once and for all. There are many twists and turns, action, suspense, danger, steamy entanglements, heartbreak, mystery, sacrifice, growth, and more. This is a great ending for the series.
Mercy’s Rise, the third book in the Guild of Assassins series by Lacey Carter Andersen, was everything we needed it to be and MORE! Mercy’s story was always riveting but in this third book Lacey kicked it up a notch and straight up grabbed us by the heartstrings!
This story continues where the previous one left off with Mercy making a decision to risk it all to save those she thinks are in need—until she soon realizes everything she thought she knew may not be as accurate as she though. Where we once thought we knew everything, this story showed us just how wrong we were when heroes become villains and villains become the ones we mourn for. Sacrifices are made and secrets are revealed that will leave our group reeling—and boy what a ride it all is!
I absolutely loved how the story progressed, taking us on quite the ride in this final installation of such an amazing series. I loved how the connection between Mercy, Rian, Bash and Ares continued to grow and how they never hesitated to fight for each other, even if it meant making sacrifices. And most importantly I loved how far Mercy came as a character and how she learned to finally open up.
"Look in the grey, Mercy. You've spent all your life avoiding it, but you have to look in the grey now."
Overall if you’re a fan of Enemies to Lovers paranormal RH Romances filled with action, mystery, deceit, secret guilds and of course hot steamy chemistry—grab this one today!
Mercy's Rise is the third and final book in Lacey Carter Andersen's Guild of Assassins series. This book, for me, doesn't really pick up where book two left off. I had to go back and reread the final pages in book two to make sure that I hadn't missed something somewhere. I hadn't. Book three just starts in a different place. I would have preferred it if we had gotten that "missing" scene to connect the stories together, but it is what it is. Mercy is racing off to help those she believes need her, but does she really think that her guys are going to let her go it alone? Ha! Not a chance. It's off to the races on this one and the question is - how will it all play out? Mercy wants to save the man who is supposed to be her father, but can she do it? Will she be risking her own life and the lives of her men in the process? A lot of questions, but this is the final book so you know you're getting a HEA. There is quite a bit of drama, and I enjoyed it. I just wish that Mercy had toned down the snotty attitude a bit more. I would have loved if this series had been more focused on the guild and her becoming an assassin, but it's a pretty good series at the end of the day. I'm rating this book 4 out of 5 stars.
I voluntaily reviewed a copy of "MERCY'S RISE" I love this Guild of Assassins series you'll be hooked from start to finish what an epic conclusion to this TRILOGY full of intrigue, suspense, deceit, lies, angst, secrets, action, war, mystery, steam, heartbreak, sacrifice, twists that make for a very addicting read. Mercy with help of Bash, Ares & Rain fight the battle between the leader of Phoenix's her biological father & his group against the Supernaturals Mercy's unexpected powers are revealed along the brutal bloodbath. Mercy & her guys their sexual attraction is to one another is scorching hot they accept they'll all be with Mercy as all three bond with her out of love & respect I love these characters. I definitely recommend to get this amazing well written story it was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, Mercy deciding on her family with her guys or the father she never really knew you need to read this to see how everything turns out. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!!
What an ending! My gosh Mercy does NOT have an easy journey! Torn between various families which she has connections to her heart and head are splitting all over the place 😧 With her biological father the leader of the Phoenixes, who are determined to wreak havoc on those who’ve used them, going against the Guild of Assassins who, despite banishing Mercy, she still has ties with, she doesn’t know who to support and forging a way forward seems impossible. As she discovers more and more information then the leading families get draw into it aswell, and despite their awful treatment of her Mercy cannot let them suffer the fate her father has planned! It takes Mercy and her harem, her chosen family, to forge a peace against all the odds! 😀 despite all the awfulness thrown at them they finally get their HEA in the final book of this trilogy!
Mercy's journey has been a crazy ride and she had to take some even more crazy actions to rise from the ashes. Pushed between her upbringing, the need to belong and have a family, and her bond with her men, finding a solution with minimum collateral damage seems to be impossible. War between the families and the phoenixes is taking its toll, and Mercy can easily be the next victim.. Fast and enjoyable read that ties the loose end and brings a bit of satisfaction to the assassin that never belonged and her group of outcasts. Mercy's heart guides her well, and her men show clearly where their allegiance belongs, too. Heat cannot be omitted in the story despite its shorter length, and the climax brings a wide range of emotions that echo in the reader for a while.
I’m on the fence about this book. I did enjoy the multiple povs, I liked how the author was very apt in describing each character in an intricate world of paranormal. I didn’t like how they made Rians dad out to be a monster in the first book and then with a few twist of words softened the female characters feelings about him even if she didn’t like him, she warmed to him. Ruthlessly kidnapping humans to be blood bags, is never ok. Kept in dungeons is not ok. I didn’t like how her dad finally spoke the words she longed to hear just before he passed. I don’t think there was much balance to it. All the horrible unkind things her parents said to her, it just didn’t feel like it was balanced. I’d rate this 3 stars.
This is the grand finale of the Guild of Assassins storyline. Watch carefully for the change in Point of View at each chapter break; you will be confused if you miss it. The battle with their enemies becomes bloodily brutal but reveals Mercy’s unexpected powers. The bloodbath finally ends due to Mercy’s intervention. Meanwhile, the mutual sexual attraction among Mercy, Bash, Ares, and Rian increases to a fever pitch, and even more, as they all finally accept the inevitability of the reverse harem around Mercy, as the book climaxes in a three-on-one tryst solidifying the mutual bonds of love and respect. A HEA ending.
These books are pretty enjoyable, they are light, quick paced books that are more action and adventure. They don't have the in depth character development or relationship build that I would like which stops them being amazing but if you want a bit of escapism they are definitely worth checking out.
This one concludes our story with Mercy trying to go it alone and sacrifice herself to save others but the guys soon put a stop to that. This one goes more into Mercy's past and her family which I enjoyed, she gets her HEA with a few more road bumps along the way.
This book is the conclusion that Mercy deserves for sure!! She has had a hard life and opposition from everyone around her and yet, she made a place for herself!
This book has so many twists and turns and non-stop action that it flies by! It is a quicker read than others by the same author but nothing gets lost here. There are a few parts I would have seen in this book or parts to be extended but I can not really complain! The details are impeccable and the world-building is what I have come to expect from LCA.
A fantastic book that will have you flipping the pages non-stop. Great series for those that love PNR RH which includes shifters, vampires, assassins, and magic.
Mercy, a human with unique parents, has slipped away from Rian, a vampire prince, and two of his guards, Ares and Bash, to try to get to her friend Tasha and her father. As the story progresses she was not as stealthy as she thought, a path for freedom could be fought, and if they cannot come to an agreement together it may all be for naught. Mercy’s Rise by Lacey Carter Andersen kept my heart racing as the finale to her Guild of Assassins series. I hope that this is not the last we see of Mercy and her men.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
This book tied up all the loose ends. I loved that we learned who her parents were. I loved that she got to feel loved by her men and accept it. I love that there was other love in this book that was open and accepted as well. I enjoyed seeing more of the backstory of this world. It made the world feel more real to me.
Mercy has to stop the phoenix group from offing all the families. The families did the phoenix race wrong but two wrongs don't make it right. There is a way to stop everything but is Mercy willing to do it?
Mercy’s Rise is book three and conclusion of The Guild of Assassins series by Lacey Carter Andersen. Wow what an absolute whirlwind of a ride this series has been and an absolutely perfect ending! Action packed, full of drama, with helpings of steam and romance this series has taken me on a real journey. Fantastic world building full of magic, characters that feel realistic especially with Mercy our FMC’s habit of jumping into trouble without thinking to protect those she cares for. Definitely recommended.
The third and final book in this trilogy ties everything up nicely. We now know what Mercy is, and her relationships with her guys are finally settling down, but before they get their happy ever after, they have to sort out the world! Throughout, you're never quite sure who to trust, which keeps you on edge until the climax. I loved this series, and I love the loosely linked universe that Lacey Carter Andersen has created. Will we ever get something tying them all together in a more concrete way? Who knows, it would be fun!
This book really hits you with a whopper of a twist! I enjoyed every minute of Mercy's story and while she definitely di a complete 180 character change, she did learn how to open up and not let other's feelings effect her. I love how the story of Mercy and her men progressed while also getting to see their story unfold as well. I am sad to see their story come to an end but it was full of adventure, action, mind bending twists and some steamy moments that make it a must read! I hope to see more from this world and I highly recommend this series.
A great conclusion to the series! Everything is all tied up nicely, which I love.
Mercy finally knows the truth about her existence and others like her, and fights to change everyone's perception. It's not an easy feat, and not everyone is receptive.
Her relationship with the men continues to change, as they decide what they want for the future. Mercy, herself, has grown throughout the series. She's still a little impulsive, but her heart is in the right place.
I've enjoyed reading this series, another great one from this author.
Lacey Carter Anderson gives us this fourth and final book in this awesome series! Beautifully written with complex characters and plot twists that you don't see coming, the story of Mercy,Rian, Bash and Ares explodes in so many trials and tribulations. A rollercoaster of emotions that is sure to become a favourite! This is Not a standalone so make sure to start at the beginning, but you can be sure of a great read. Don't miss out on this series!!
Dayum!! What a thrilling story, and satisfying ending. The one scene I loved the most was when Mercy is getting a special dance from her guys 🤭 I enjoyed seeing how this series developed, and also each characters’ individual growth (and as a team, of course!) I felt really sorry for Mercy, but in the end, they all realised that they are stronger and better together. Great storyline, original, and completely amazing!
I have Loved Mercy's Saga of Adventures and this was a wonderful ending!! It had me laughing, crying, I was shocked, and then I was completely happy with the ending!! It could not have ended any better!!❤ Bravo to Lacey Carter Anderson for writing such Spectacular Trilogy that we could immerse ourselves into and get away for awhile!!! You are now a favorite author of mine and I will read anything you write!!😘
Mercy's Rise by Lacey Carter Anderson is the third and final book in the Guild of Assassins Series and it was an epic finale!!! The series itself was beautifully written and had a full and elaborate plot with stories and characters that are fully realized by the conclusion. That said, I can see the potential maybe for more stories to come out of this very rich environment perhaps in the future... Absolutely loved this series, but then I love just about everything this writer creates!
Determined to keep her men out of this fight, Mercy wants to rescue her birth father and others at the Guild. What she gets is no where near what she expected. Figuring things out and bringing an end to a horrific practice will take Mercy working with Ares, Rian, and Bash. Something she does not do well.
Filled with all the things readers live about Mercy, this book drops grenade strength bombs, but brings a satisfying conclusion for readers.
First off I have to say just how gorgeous the covers are in this series! Now on to Mercy's Rise, we are back with Mercy and her three unique men Ares, Bash, and Rian. This was definitely my favorite book of the series as the characters have continued to grow together throughout. The moments between Mercy and her men are hott, and everything comes together in the end. Just a wonderful trilogy with a fantastic ending!
Absolutely love this series and this book is just another amazing part of the series. I like that there’s fighting, and action, as well as politics and heritages to learn about. Combined with the “deep dark secrets” of the “royal” families, this book has twists and turns like you wouldn’t believe. Lacey is an absolutely amazing author and I can’t wait for more from her. Even if I am disappointed it won’t be for this series.
Mercy's Rise is book three in the Guild of Assassins series and it picks up where book two left off. Mercy went through a lot in this action packed story but I am so glad she got some closure with some things. The writing is well done and once again this author has completely captivated me from beginning to end with another fantastic series. I look forward to reading the next great series by this amazing author. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
