Kathleen Lawless blames a misspent youth watching Rawhide, Maverick and Bonanza for her fascination with cowboys, which doesn’t stop her from creating a wide variety of interests and occupations for her many alpha male heroes. Her hero, Steele, in HER UNDERCOVER COWBOY, is a modern-day cowboy, so when she was wooed by a man called Steel— while he’s not a cowboy, he is an alpha male and her forever hero. Which is why all of her stories end Happily Ever After. Not that she can ever stick to just one genre. So many stories to tell—never enough time. With over 30 published novels to her credit, she enjoys pushing the boundaries of traditional romance into historical romance, romantic suspense, women’s fiction and stories for young adults. This is my first time reading from this author. I really liked the heroine, she is a young widow. She needs something from the very handsome Grayson. Grayson, is a handsome rake and alpha! The way she appeared at his estate was priceless, and she made an impression on him. Aurora doesn’t know that Grayson is having a weekend party. The story line was good, it’s a hot romance with a mystery to solve. Fast paced story and the characters were interesting. During her unplanned visit, they find themselves attracted to each other. I love attention to details, and this story lacked it. I have no idea when and where this story takes place. It doesn’t describe the characters and or where they are.
This is one spicy historical romance with a bit of intrigue! 💞💓💖💞
Aurora was a woman on a mission to speak to a man about "Gaslight Theater" a property that he owned. But when she met Grayson, she discovered that she wanted much more than a theater... she wanted the man himself too. When Grayson saw Aurora alight from the hot air balloon, she caught his attention in a way no other woman had before. But there is something else he needs to be focused on for the weekend. Too bad she keeps distracting him. 😉 💗🔥💕
I have read several other books by this author, however, this one is definitely steamier than the rest. But it is so good! 💦🥰

This was a really hot historical romance and I really liked it. It had enough going on to keep me reading right until the very end. This is the second book in the series but is the first one I have read and I will definitely be checking out more from this author.
I enjoyed this book about Aurora and Gray. And quite steamy. Finished it in quickly because I wanted to see what happened and it was very interesting. I will be looking for more by this author as this is the first time I've read anything she's written. Aurora arrives in a hot air balloon on Gray's estate the weekend that he is having a party. She wants to convince him to see her a theater he owns. He is trying to determine who murdered his father. And of course, during the weekend they have many trysts and fall in love. Was a really great read.
Holy smokes this was a good story by Ms. Lawless. I really liked the characters of Aurora and Grayson. Their characters were so well-developed. Good romance with some spicy bits. HEA.

This historical novel is really hot. I really enjoyed reading this new author. I'm curious to see what else she has planned for this series and to read the rest of her catalog.

I loved this book sooo much. It was a true joy to read. I could not stop turning pages. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Wow. What a disappointment. I don't have issues with a lot of sex scenes in a story, however, it seemed like the writer spent more time crafting the sex scenes than developing the characters. And this story. Oh, my word. I found it hard to believe they were falling in love in one weekend. Lust? Yes. Love? No. I ended up skipping through most of it to get to the end and find out how the mystery ended.
And who puts two characters' speedy romance in the middle a bunch of other people participating in a weekend of debauchery, and then they don't even participate in the debauchery? Yeah, yeah, I know, Gray was trying to suss out the killer. But the back cover certainly makes it sound like this couple is gonna get up in the action.

I would say this book is smutt", however, I really enjoyed reading it! I'd never read a book like this before and WoW! Some of the scenes shocked me! :0)
