The best $1.00 used book remainder bin find I ever got my hands on.
This is non-fiction. The accounting records of the 5th Earl of Bedford contain astonishing detail concerning just exactly what a noble house spent its money on, and the author augments these records with information from other historical sources, both on England in general and on this noble house in particular. It's endlessly fascinating, if you're into that sort of thing.
