The Cleveland Clinic Guides always provide a nice introduction to medical diseases and disorders. They are written in easy to understand language and offer a resource section and bibliography for further information. This fibromyalgia guide covers diagnosis and development along with conventional and alternative treatments.

After reading this book, I feel a lot more prepared to talk to my new doctor about my possibly having fibromyalgia. I'll know what questions to ask, and know what to expect to be asked. I'll also be able to better tell if the doctor is prepared to treat fibromyalgia, and be more prepared to ask for a referral to a rheumatologist if it seems like they aren't. This book was full of pretty much all of the information I'll be needing to get this treated. The writing style made it a million times easier to read than most medical books out there, and it really made me wish I lived closer to Cleveland so that I could go to that clinic (I live over three hours away, unfortunately). I'd recommend this book to anyobe who has or think they have fibromyalgia, as well as the loved ones of those people who want to know more about why that person is suffering. I also plan on recommending this to my new doctor to read.

If you’re newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia, you’ll be in a similar situation to me: nothing makes sense. Everything hurts. And it’s scary.

I wanted to read something that helped me understand what I’m dealing with. Obviously relying on Google isn’t good enough, right?

I wanted a book written by a doctor who could help me make sense if things. I think this book did a great job.

Do I understand a hundred percent of what fibromyalgia symptoms are now? No. But I understand a ton more than I did beside. This book is incredibly well written and Researched . It’s a ton of great informative and easy to read, it even provided more resources at the end.

It only took me two days to read it really but I read it in bursts, half one day and half the next time I picked it up.

I’d definitely recommend this book.

The Cleveland Clinic is a respected source of health information, and they do a very good job of covering Fibromyalgia in this book. It's one of the best resources I've found so far.

Fibromyalgia is one of those "invisible" illnesses that is hard for anyone to understand, whether they have it or not. There are case examples in this book that compliment the content, and readers will get quite a detailed look at the symptoms, oddities, and causes (as known to date) of Fibromyalgia, which can be a very painful and difficult condition to live with. Some suggested treatments and other resources are also included in the book.

A very good resource for both those diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and those who have someone in their life who suffers it.

I have read a lot of books on the topic of fibromyalgia, and I was most impressed by this one. I even bought it. I think the author has done the best job at explaining what fibromyalgia is, what has been done--and what has most effectively been done--about it as well as identifying all of the conditions that are similar or related. I felt the most comforted by the info. presented in this book--the author is kind and sympathetic. It has also been a source of worthwhile inspiration for me as I've made changes in my life.

As a person diagnosed with fibromyalgia recently, this book helped to understand my condition a little better. It answered a lot of questions I had, and I felt so much better knowing I wasn't the only one feeling those symptoms. I recommend to anyone with this or anyone who knows someone who has been diagnosed with it.

This book is well written and easy to understand. It takes the complex body chemistry of fibromyalgia and breaks it down so it's easier to understand. Very informative book.

Sometimes a little too clinical/science-y for me, but overall one of the best sources of info about fibromyalgia I've looked at.

This might alright as a first book to read for a fibromyalgia sufferer. It has the Cleveland Clinic imprimatur and covers basic information.

I'm disappointed, however, in how limited it was. 153 pages of material (without the appendices and index), which is double-spaced and in enormous print. Also, the writing is painfully bad.

Super informative with an appropriate level of detail. Because of this book I'm focusing a lot more on correcting my sleep issues since there is an obvious connection between the body's ability to get restorative sleep and the level of fibro that I'm suffering from.

This wasn't a book written for someone just learning about fibromyalgia. It was geared more for the health professional, or someone who has been dealing with fibro for a long time. A much better guide for the novice is "Fibromyalgia for Dummies".

It's pretty rare for me to find a book on fibromyalgia with information I haven't read a hundred times. I'd recommend this just on that basis, but it's got good hoax-o-meter information, too.

Great book for getting a decent amount of info on this illusive diagnosis.
