I really like Mike Lawrence so I was excited to see his name on the book. I think Max Hardy has a really good idea and I really agree with his basic approach to bridge and bridge bidding. I find myself wanting to take up the 2/1 system based on his intro and Mike's intro. After that the book is about as disorganized as any bridge book I have ever read. So armed with the urge to learn the system and this book, I couldn't do it.
A revelation for anyone who has tried to learn 2/1. I have ordered a later edition of this, which I understand is even better.
I found the sections on New Minor Forcing and Fourth Suit Forcing especially helpful, but Hardy is great in general with expert treatment of such basic matters as hand evaluation, opening bids, etc.
This should be the bible for anyone wanting to learn 2-over-1 bidding in Bridge. The examples are excellent and the quiz at the end of each chapter will show you whether you know the material or not. It is outstanding.
