The blurb of this book needs some serious rework in order to include Amber. Who is Amber you might ask. She is the lady who narrates about 1/4 (only from her point of view) of the book until chapter 14 or something like that. After chapter 14 Toni, the heroine of this book takes her place. Condering that the book has 20 chapters this should worry you. I am not into live triangles and not into seeing the hero of the book proposing to someone else. They should have broken up on the first chapter and give Mark and Toni time and space to fall for each other. This book has practically no romance. Twilight is a better love story people. (That should mean something to the haters) . I don't feel like I know Toni. She a barely narrates 2 chapters and she and Mark spend time alone just to have sex. This is not my kind of book. Mark is a selfish man who has two things on his mind. Drama and sex. I don't understand how he was so shaken about the whole Amber situation. He was going to break things off with her because he was lusting after Toni. And he kissed her. He overreacted and acted like a drama queen for no reason. Poor Toni. She ended up with him. She deserves a better man. Someone who will show her what being in love means. I feel like Mark lives in his own world where he is the center of the universe and no one else matters. If I could give 0 stars to a book, I would do that for crash and burn. The only thing that was crashed was Marks ego.

Crash and Burn was another good story from H. D'Agostino and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have read all previous books so I was able to follow the story, though, at times, it did jump around a bit. Having read the previous books in the series, I understood what was happening, but I can understand how things might be a little confusing for those readers who may read this as a standalone.
There is some "cheating" in this book but I found it was tastefully written. While I am not a fan of cheating, it did add to the story and for me, it didn't detract from the book. If you are staunchly against cheating of any sort, you may want to steer clear of this one.
In typical H. D'Agostino style, the story had a myriad of emotions: love, laughter, heartbreak, and suspense.
Mark is a true alpha male. He's a police officer and likes control though he's in a relationship that has long since fizzled. Toni is assigned as his new partner and immediately the sparks fly as she is also fiercely determined and fights tooth and nail for respect in a typically male-dominated profession.
Secrets abound and lines are tested. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, but a real page-turner.
For me, the book is a solid 4.5.
Pick it up, but I recommend reading the rest of the series before jumping in!
Congrats on another good one, H. D'Agostino.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and kept me interested in the story. The story has laughs, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Being Nobody (Witness, #1)
Becoming Somebody (Witness #2)
Promise Me Tomorrow (Witness #3)
Say You Remember (Witness #4)
Below the Surface (Witness #5)

This is Antonia and Mark’s story. Antonia is used to fighting her way through life. She after all works in a male dominated profession. When she gets assigned as Mark’s partner she knows she will have to fight even harder at her job. Mark is always in charge in and out of the bedroom. When he is assigned a woman partner he starts to show his dominate side right away. But when to people are fighting to be in charge is there ever a winner? He wants it as he always had it. She needs it but also wanted it. Who is about to come out on top? Who is going to crash and burn in the end?

I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

This book was just an OK read for me. From the blurb you would just think it was about Detective Mark Colby and his new partner Detective Antonia Rossi, but it's not. Mark has a girlfriend, Amber and it is told from her point of view also. Nowhere in the blurb does it mention Mark having a girlfriend. I was really invested in Amber and Mark and now you throw Toni into the mix. Once Amber is removed from the storyline Mark and Toni get together, I won't give away the details. And then Amber is abruptly brought back into the storyline for the ending. Don't give me started on the ending because it felt rushed, just thrown together for the completion sakes.

Overall the story was OK I just wish the blurb had been more thorough. I would read this author again and even a book from this series.

4.5 Stars!

I really have come to love this Witness series by H. D'Agostino and I honestly find myself quite addicted and have been since book one. There's something about the secrets and suspense in these books that I can't get enough of.

With that being said, we have the next standalone installment and what a journey these characters took me on. It was totally unexpected at times and intense every step of the way but by the end, I loved every moment and was left totally satisfied.

Crash and Burn was a sexy romance that had me hooked by the end of chapter one. This book and these characters took me on a twisted path with all the feels and a lot of heart. It definitely wasn't easy and it got downright complicated at times but I stuck it out and man I'm glad I did.

I don't want to spoil this and I don't want to give you any hints. This is one series totally worth experiencing.

I highly recommend this book.

I do not normally like books where there is cheating of any kind but in this case I can say I made an exception. The two main characters, Mark and Amber had been having issues, their emotional connection had been strained for a long time and their relationship really needed to come to an end anyway. Mark was a jerk where Amber was concerned and she was selfish where Mark was concerned. It just was not a strong and healthy relationship. So when Mark started struggling with his feelings for another woman and wanted to break things off with Amber, only yo have her do so first, I was not upset about it. I really liked Toni's character- any time there is a strong female lead introduced in a story you have me interested. Having read almost every H. D'Agostino book written, I can say this is one of the best and I recommend it with 5 stars given.

The only issue I had with this story was that Mark's girlfriend, Amber, was whiny and needy. As an Amber myself, she gave us a bad name. But that was it.

Mark and Toni are new partners on the police force - Mark was a seasoned vet and Toni was a new transfer where she's trying to make a name for herself and not for who her family is. And she has to fight because she's a woman in a male-dominated field.

This was a great, hot read. You don't have to read the other books in the series but you should. You get to meet the characters from each of these couples.

OK, advanced warning, this book isn't what is described in the blurb.  There is another party involved in this relationship, and because I don't generally read books of that nature, I would probably not have selected this book to review if I had known.

As a result, I really didn't make a positive emotional connection to any of the characters nor did I understand their motivations.  Although Toni maintained a professional distance initially, the other two characters really just needed to sit and have a conversation rather than adopting the approach they did.

That said, the actions of each seemed to be well observed and described, and the story flowed reasonably well, but I'm afraid that this story as a whole didn't quite hit the mark for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

3.5* Mark comes off as being dominant in the book except at the beginning. At the beginning he'll do anything to get Amber off of his back. Things he never should have done but did.

I would have liked the book more if Amber wouldn't have been such a big part of the beginning. I mean if she would have been a memory when Mark was doing things, it would have worked better for me. That's just my personal opinion though.

If I take that out of the equation though I enjoyed Mark and Toni. They have some hot chemistry for sure! Will read the next in the series.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I haven’t read any of the series, and this is the first book I have actually read by Heather D’Agostino. I have to say it was a fast read that kept my interest throughout the entire book. Even though it’s the sixth book in the series, it is a standalone and easy to follow.
This book is actually about three people…Mark, Amber, and Toni. Mark is a detective and a man that likes control and order in his life. His friends keep asking him to join him in their securities firm, but he is loyal to the police force and likes his job. He is a little anxious to be getting a new partner, and that anxiety increases when he discovers it’s not a man but a beautiful, intelligent woman, Toni. He likes her and respects her, but his thoughts are not all professional but very, very personal. Not good for the job or for his long-time relationship with his girlfriend, Amber.
Amber has been with Mark for a long time, but lately she notices he is becoming more withdrawn. She has never really liked the job he has, especially when he goes undercover. Instead of getting better, she is becoming more suspicious and needy. She has to decide whether to accept Mark and his job or change her own life which may not include Mark.

Toni is beautiful and smart. She comes from a police family. In fact, her father was a police commissioner, so she has spent her career trying to get people to see her for who she is, not as the police commissioner’s daughter. She has done that quite well. She honestly likes Mark and respects him. However, she is starting to have very unprofessional feelings for him. He is completely off-limits. First, they work together, and second, he is taken.

As I wrote earlier, this book really is about three people in a very complicated situation. Don’t fear, Mark is not unfaithful. He is trying to make it work with Amber, but he knows things have changed with her. I wasn’t quite sure about him in the beginning…he wasn’t my favorite. That was what I got from Amber’s POV. I thought she was whiny and needy. That’s what I saw from Mark’s POV. Writing these different POVs was brilliant on the part of D’Agostino. She made her characters flawed and realistic, just like every other human. Through three different POVs, you get to see the complications of relationships and how being with one person can either bring you down or lift you up. My favorite thing was there wasn’t a villain, just three normal people trying to decide whether to move on or make it work…it is a scary, hard decision. D’Agostino did a fantastic job of showing her readers that!

Crash and Burn was my first book by D’Agostino, but it definitely won’t be my last. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.

this review is my honest opinion and I have not received anything for this review...

how do I feel after finishing?
Disappointed, I guess, but one of the requests from the author for reviews was for non spoiler review, which as you know I don't like either, but unfortunately most of the issues that I found with this book, and trying to explain would probably contain spoilers. So I'm going to try explain why this book never connected with me without spoiling it for readers who want to read this.

The biggest part is that the author starts this book off in the pov of Detective Mark Colby's girlfriend Amber... yet she's not mentioned in the blurb? I don't like triangle books, I'd have probably passed this book if I knew this.

Also the author choosing to write from Ambers pov from the outset had me investing in her as the main character in the book. So I attribute this as the main factor in why I never connected with Mark or Toni. Mark also comes across as selfish from Ambers pov, and this stuck with me throughout the book.

I think if the book had started off with Detective Antonia Rossi starting at her new job, with her pov of being attracted to her partner, playing on the fact that her dad's a big cheese in the NYPD, but I feel this hasn't been explored as well as it could have been, maybe would have enjoyed it more.
but the authors got too many characters, and threads of other characters interwoven with the story that it felt disjointed and hard to get emotionally attached to any character, there's scenes in this book that were random and not explored further.

Amber is removed from the storyline then brought back in to close off this avenue, but it's abruptly and clinched.
Finally the ending sucked. I won't go into details but it felt rushed, and left me really confused about the epilogue... which was about another character introduced in a scene... I guess leading to the next book... but none of the characters i.e. Toni or Mark are mentioned!
I am not one to pull books down. but from starting out with a story that had me investing in a character to then go off in a completely different tangent with other characters is confusing and disjointed.
The point in the blurb where it talks of duty or desires and crashes of wills was not really much of an experience either, just cliche and predictable, to be honest I feel this book was more crash and burn for me.
I've given it a 3 star but that's mostly based on my initial reaction to the book. and Ambers story, and Toni as a character as herself. the storyline probably reads better if you have read the other 5 books... But for me I'm sorry it's a crash and burn in a negative way. I won't be trying again.

** ARC provided by the author for an honest review **

Bestselling author Heather D’Agostino brings us the next installment of her Witness series, Crash and Burn. Told from the POVs of Mark, Amber, and Toni this book takes us through Mark’s journey in finding love.

Detective Mark Colby should be content with his life. He has his steady girlfriend, Amber, and a job he loves. Lately though things have been in a slump. He seems to constantly be fighting with Amber, his friends have all left to start their own security firm, and he is getting a new partner. When his partner turns out to be the hottest woman he’s ever seen, Mark decides that marrying Amber will solidify his feelings for her and keep him off limits.

Antonia “Toni” Rossi is the daughter to NYPD legend Tony Rossi and determined to show she can make it in a man’s world. With double the pressures that come with being a woman and having a legend in the family, Toni cannot allow her attraction to her partner go anywhere.  She loves her job just as much as Mark loves his... besides he’s engaged.

When Amber’s job takes her away for three weeks, all three are tested. Can Mark make the decision that’s best for him? And what, or who, is the right choice?

I was completely intrigued with Mark’s story. Having to decide between what is routine and comfortable or what causes sparks to fly is a difficult choice. The book started in Mark and Amber’s POVs and then switched to Mark and Toni. I enjoyed having insight to Amber’s actions and how they influenced Mark, but I would have preferred the story be from Toni and Mark from the moment she enters the station. I felt a little misled by this as I was totally invested in Mark and Amber when a bombshell is dropped and the story takes a completely different turn than I was ready for. That being said, I felt this was a true depiction of falling into routine and comfortable, settling for what you have instead of what you want. I would be interested to see where this series heads as Jenni and Evan were secondary side characters that really caught my attention. 3 stars!

Crash and Burn by H.D. A’gostino
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
YOWZERS!! Mark!! I mean who knew you had this hot, brooding side to ya? Not me that is for sure. When we meet Mark in the series you can see he is “content” with Amber buuuuut let just say things at home weren’t always happy. This couple has been through a lot but they are just at a standstill. Both Mark and Amber know things are not right soooo let’s get married to fix it….epic fail of an idea right.
Toni had always felt she needed to prove herself because she is a good cop but a woman…the dang boys club can be tough at times. She is partnered with Mark and they have this SPARK but because Mark is taken PLUS you can’t date your partner at work, he is off limits.
When Amber and Mark’s circumstances change, there is nothing to stop Mark and Toni from this insane chemistry between the two of them. They both had issues and insecurities from their past life experiences. Mark doesn’t want to change for anyone and neither does Toni. They both love their job on the force but dating means someone had to make changes in their career. Is the relationship they are just starting worth it?? The past does cause some trouble for the couple and stubborn people are made to open their eyes before they lose the one person who truly gets them.
I am shocked to say that Mark MAY have kicked Jase to 3rd place for my affections. Sorry but Mason is firmly secure at the top of list for this series but Mark…..you naught dawg!! Toni is such a strong and sassy female. I loved how she would push Mark and make sure he knew that she was just as much in control as he was.
The epilogue sets us up for Mason’s sister Jenni to have a book. I am excited to read it but can already tell it will be an emotional one with the subject matter of her story!!

This is the sixth book in this series however they can be read as standalone books. I have not read the other books in this series and wasn’t confused at all. In fact, this is my first book by heather. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series and have already put them on my tbr list. Detective Mark Colby has lived his life by the rules and is always in charge. That is until he gets a new partner. Not only is not a guy it may be the woman of his dreams. The problem is that he has a girlfriend and he loves her. Or at least he thought he did. Detective Antonia Rossi has had to fight her whole career to be taken seriously. She comes from a police family and must worker harder to prove that she can do the job. The minute she sees her new partner she knows she is in trouble. Both Antonia and Mark feel the attraction to each other right away but nothing can happen between them. Not only does Mark have a girlfriend but they can’t be in a relationship and stay partners. Mark and his girlfriend have been dating for a while but things aren’t as great as either of them would like. They have been fighting a lot lately would they be better off with other people? Are they staying together just because they feel like they shouldn’t just split after this long? The more time Mark spends with Antonia the more he wants her and not just because he shouldn’t. This book was fantastic. I loved it so much. The only characters I wasn’t that excited about was Mark’s girlfriend and she got better once they got their stuff sorted out. Other than that, I loved all the characters in this series. I can’t say enough good things about this book but I don’t want to give any spoilers away. I highly recommend this book.

Thank you Heather for Mark and Toni. As you lead into the story I will admit I was confused because it started with Amber but now I know why. As I read along the title fits but the burn doesn't last long in the case of Mark and Toni.
Here you have a story about two people (Mark and Amber) that met and have grown apart but neither really want to face the facts. To fix the relationship or not? that is the question. The answer to fix only seemed temporary and lead to the end instead. On the brighter side there was someone really meant to be with Mark, his new partner Antonia Rossi (Toni). Toni wasn't looking to hook up with anyone but she could feel the attraction between her and Mark but he was still attached. Like I said Mark and Amber ended. The workplace didn't allow fraternizing so will Toni and Mark find a way or will one sacrifice for the other to be together?
The way you lead into your story Heather is different than anything I've read before. You lead with a character that was gonna be out of the picture at some point, so confusion was placed but understanding dawned. I actually like your style, it was different but you kept the style of the characters P.O.V. that always lets me know how and what the other character(s) is thinking. Heather you flow from one to the other and never have the reader lose track of what's going on.

I received an ARC from both the author and Eye Candy Bookstore. I read and reviewed this voluntarily. LOVED IT 😘

So we meet Amber,Mark's girlfriend and she's having a good old natter with her best friend Dani , well its more of a venting sesssion really . I must be honest it seems Dani is lot more understanding and supportive of Mark than his girlfriend! I appreciate Dani and her honesty and she doesn't beat around the bush Amber....shes a good friend .

Mark is a policeman and a good one at that an there's a lot of change going on and the biggest one is him looking his old partner and having to deal with a new one .
Meeting Toni for the first time was entertaining....i could just imagine it all going down , I canned myself ( laughed hysterically) a few of the guys at the bar having a couple of ales and in walks Toni the " New Guy" except he is a she 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and to add I sult to injury they rag him him about Amber and her reaction to his new partner ....good luck buddy 😉

I like Toni , she gives avoid as she gets, she can handle the teasing , she no fading wallflower and she sure knows her way around a gun !

There's a stage where I was realky rooting hard for Toni and Mark, willing him to.leave the force and give them a chance......does he.....uoull have to read and find out 😋

Mark and Toni make an epic team , they're like mint and chocolate , a perfect match !

Looking forward to see how things develop between Evan and Jenni

I want to start out by saying that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Heather D'Agostino, and the Witness series a TON! Her brilliant writing style is one of my biggest addictions, and I'm not sure that I'll EVER get enough. All day, I've been trying to figure out how to write this review without giving anything away, so here goes. I've wanted to read Mark's story for a while, but it just wasn't quite what I had hoped for. Don't get me wrong, it still kept me turning the pages quickly, but, and this is only MY OPINION, he kind of disappointed me. I believe the problem for me was that the beginning was Mark and Amber's POV, so I became invested in her first. Which meant that I didn't quite imprint on Toni like I normally would, when her POV started. And while Amber & Mark had grown apart, he spent quite a bit of time blaming her, which had me cussing, since he made his own share of mistakes. Trust me when I say that writing all of this has hurt my heart, because this author is one of my very favorites, but on the flip side, even with my feelings with Crash and Burn, I'll NEVER EVER get enough of her writing. Not to mention, she definitely came off very original with the way she wrote this one. So I'm going to wrap this review up with stating how impatiently I'll be waiting for Ms. D'Agostino's next masterpiece!

Detective Mark Colby is a rule follower and he is always in command and in charge. He is also dominate in the bedroom. Everything changed when Detective Antonia Rossi walked into his station.

Detective Antonia Rossi is a strong women in a male dominated profession who had to fight her way to the top! It doesn't help that she is the police commissioner’s daughter. When she’s assigned as Mark’s new partner, she knows she’s in for a fight. Mark has reputation for dominance and so when she is assigned to be his new partner she is in for a fight.

What happens when these two are expected to work together ? Will it be a battle of wills? Will this duo crash and burn?

I found this book odd because a big part of the book is in the POV of Detective Mark Colby's girlfriend Amber. I was invested in her and she kind of disappears for a while and then returns leaving me confused. I liked her more than Mark and I never was connected to Toni and Mark as partners or more. I am not sure what the point was of having Amber POV except to show what a jerk Mark was to her. I felt the storyline was rushed and I didn't care for the ending. This book is a 3 star book. It just needs help to get the story line and characters back on track.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Mark, Mark, Mark what can I say. Mark and Amber have been together for a while and lets just say they are comfortable, argumentative yes, but their relationship has seem to come to a stalemate. Mark being the one to "fix" things decided why not get married. *shakes head* Just keep watching it is 100% a train wreck ready to happen.

Toni is Marks new partner and has always had to be better than the one before and the ones after because of who she was. She is sexy, strong, determined, and does not back down. Toni is going to give Mark a run for his money.

With the train wreck I mentioned above that happened between Mark and Amber. Mark finds himself playing along with Toni when she asks him to do her a favor. OH my she has no idea what she is in for that day. How can two individuals who are dominate as these two make this work? Someone has to submit at some point but who?

Mark turned out to be one hot sexy man. The connection Mark and Toni have is electric. I loved when these tow got together but when he had to interact with her family that was the best.

I love this series and cannot wait for the next one. It will be tough to read but so ready to hear Jenni's story next.

My Review of Crash and Burn (Witness, #6) by
H. D'Agostino
My Rating 3.5 Stars
Detective Mark Colby working his tail off to further himself within his career and doing so takes his time away from his longtime girlfriend Amber.
Mark and Amber’s relationship isn’t all roses and both of them missed the bus on communication…Completely!
Mark gets himself a new partner one Toni Rossi who is a firecracker hell bent on making a name for herself in a man’s world of law enforcement.
There were many elements within this story that I really liked and there were some that I felt were rushed and made it difficult for me the reader to connect completely with the characters, with the story being told from 3 different POV’s made it interesting, the author did a very nice job with that as I usually have a hard time with the shuffling of “Who's Who talking”
The storyline is solid I only wish I could have felt more of a connection to each character, I believe I would have been able to rate this book higher.

Title: Crash and Burn
Author: Heather D’Agostino
Genre: Adult Romance
Format: Ebook - ARC
Pages: 244
Rating: 3.5
Heat: 5

Thoughts: Pretty good story. A few things bothered me though. For a stand-alone story I still felt a little lost with the other characters. And I don’t understand why Amber got her own point of view, she really wasn’t a main character, and we don’t really get closure with her. At first it seems like she is but I was left with many questions. And Mark, I wouldn’t want him as my book boyfriend. To me he was just a selfish jerk that wasn’t willing to put any work into the relationship, quick to assume the worst without letting anyone explain anything. I already live with one of those, I don’t want to read about it. I was hoping with the issues that Amber and Mark were having that the story was going to show how they were able to work things out to get their HEA. Nope, that’s not what happens at all. Overall it was an interesting story but I just didn’t connect with the characters at all.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.

Crash and Burn is #6 in the Witness Series and is the first book that I have read in this series.

I actually enjoyed reading this book. Crash and Burn is the first book that I have read by this author. Although, I have to admit to some confusion. I agree with one of the reviews that I read that the first bit of the book was about Amber. Amber played such a bit part in the book but, should have been brought up in the blurb especially since this book started with her POV.

The story was good and entertaining once I got past Amber. The ending also had me confused. Chapter 20 had Toni and Mark’s sexy ending and then went to the Epilogue which wasn’t about Toni or Mark. It ended at Mark’s new job at the Ford Stevenson Securities and had his name mentioned along with the other employees at the Security agency.

I would like to read more from this author because the story was good it just had a few discrepancies.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I give Crash and Burn 3.75 stars.

In this 6th book of the series, we get a chance to follow Amber. We also follow Mark and what happens between them and what doesn't happen between them. We find Amber flying to California with her co-worker Kyle for three weeks for a business conference her boss selected them for. We find Mark getting a new partner and getting ready to go into an undercover case. What happens the night Amber leaves for California for Mark and his new partner? What does that do for Mark's disposition when facing Amber leaving for three weeks? What happens while Amber is in California? What happens for and with her and also what happens for and with Mark? Can these two star-crossed lovers make it work or does their relationship hit the skids? You're going to have to read to find out, but I'll tell you this much, it leaves me ready to read book 7 in the series already!

3 1/2 Stars!
This one was ok but not my favorite. The blurb give us info on Antonia (Toni) and Mark but the book starts with Mark and Amber. I was expecting to jump right in with Mark and Toni and when it started with Amber I was like "wait, what" and I stopped to reread the blurb to make sure I was reading the right story. Mark and Amber are content with their relationship and you can tell from the beginning that their relationship is about to crash. Toni is Mark new partner. He was expecting a man so it was a little funny when he found out Toni was a woman. There is a spark there but they both love their job and don't want to jeopardize it by dating. This two just mesh well together and I was definitely routing for them. I liked all the characters but I had a little trouble connecting with it and I blame Amber's part in the story for that. I wish that their was more Mark and Toni and less Amber is the story.

So when Mark started struggling with his feelings for another woman and wanted to break things off with Amber, only you have her do so first, I was not upset about it. I really liked Toni's character- any time there is a strong female lead introduced in a story you have me interested. Having read almost every H. D'Agostino book written, I can say this is one of the best and I recommend it with 5 stars given.

I enjoyed this book but you could pretty much tell where it was headed right from the beginning.

I liked both Mark and Amber but you could tell that there were some problems between them and Mark's half ass proposal should have been a sign. Yet the two still kept on going and never really dealt with their problems head on.

I really did feel bad for Amber with the business trip as she was clearly not ready for everything that happened.

Mark's journey was also interesting in that you could see it coming but the two hit a bunch of "speed bumps" and especially the huge blow up at the end. I didn't quite understand that one as there were specific guidelines with their relationship.

I knew how it was all going to turn out but it was still a good story and seeing how everything played out.

Really liked it, not what I was expecting at all. I dived in and got a little confused at first with the different POVs that the story had, but from the very beginning I saw the potential and sunk in it. As the story developed I got more and more into the characters and their story. Really liked the author's style and this will definitely won't be the last book I read from her. The thing I like the most is that their relationship developed over time, no instalove here. Mark is CPD and going through some changes: new partner and difficult times in his personal relationship. When his new partner turns out to be Toni Rossi, "every man's wet dream" as he puts it, a battle between right and wrong starts within himself. When his relationship crashes and the truth sets that Toni is the woman for him a new battle begins.

Heather D'Agostino put me on quite the emotional ride with this one. Mark and Amber had reached that point in their relationship where they were too comfortable with each other. They decided it was time to get married, the natural progression of a relationship right? Events in their careers, friends, coworkers, hidden aspirations all conspire against those plans. One day all the plans come crashing down around them. For Mark, the loss of this relationship somehow manages to open a door to a secret longing for his partner at work, Toni. The attraction is undeniable but they are coworkers and there are rules! You won't want to miss this roller coaster ride and the look back into the lives of some of your favorite characters.

Unfortunately this book isn't what I was expecting. I am not a big fan of romances with third parties, as in GF and BF or spouses that are currently in a relationship with one of the main characters. Seeing as this isn't my cup of tea I just honestly don't think I can rate it any higher. I found myself hating all of the characters, because I am not a fan of grey when it comes to this type of relationship. As for the book itself the characters are fleshed out and the writing is very good. I just wish I had known before, so I wouldn't have gotten myself into this one. So I repeat if you're not a fan of cheating, don't read it just don't. If you like grey areas, then good for you. This book has an unexpected very grey area at the beginning that I'm sure you shall enjoy haha.
