Be connected to the Father, through prayer and daily devotion and obedience to Him. Then, I can begin to make the Father Connection with my own children, as I show them the Father's image in concrete ways.McDowell says you must unconditionally love and accept your child because God unconditionally loves and accepts us. He calls God "totally accepting." But God doesn't accept all actions and thoughts; He requires that we repent of sinful actions and thoughts, and have holy actions and thoughts. If He were "totally accepting," why would He send His Son to suffer and die for the sins of His people, and convert sinners to live changed lives?
Using the corrective power of logical consequences eliminates the need for lengthy lectures, explanations, arguments, and shouting matches. When both father and child know that certain actions carry certain logical, reasonable consequences, the matter is decided as soon as the action is taken. The Father and Forgiveness
