《春尽江南》是格非的最新长篇力作，也是他呕心沥血十余年、探索一个世纪以来中国社会内在精神衍变的系列长篇小说的收官之作。前两部《人面桃花》和《山河入梦》，写的分别是国民革命早期和五六十年代的中国；而这部《春尽江南》则对准了当下中国的精神现实。这部小说，信息量大，艺术结构高超；主体故事的时间跨度只有一年，而叙述所覆盖的时间幅度则长达二十年。小说通过描写诗人谭端午和律师庞家玉（原名李秀蓉）这对渐入中年的夫妻及其周边一群人近二十年的人生际遇和精神求索，广泛透视了个体在剧变时代面临的各种问题，深度切中了我们时代精神疼痛的症结。

About the author

Ge Fei (Chinese: 格非; pinyin: Gé Fēi; Wade–Giles: Ke Fei, born 1964) is the pen name of novelist Liu Yong (刘勇), considered by many scholars and critics to be one of the most significant of the Chinese avant-garde writers that rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s.

Ge Fei was born in Dantu, Jiangsu, in 1964. He studied Chinese literature at East China Normal University and, after graduating in 1985, began to teach there and publish short stories and novellas. He read widely during his studies, but has since noted that he was particularly influenced by Borges, Faulkner and Robbe-Grillet. Some of his early, more experimental works were translated into English in the 1990s, such as "The Lost Boat", "Remembering Mr. Wu You" and "Green Yellow".

One of Ge Fei's most celebrated works is the "Jiangnan Trilogy", which explores the concept of utopia and contains many allusions to Cao Xueqin's Dream of the Red Chamber.

In 2016, The Invisibility Cloak (which had won both the Lu Xun Literary Prize and the Lao She Literary Award in 2014) was the first of his longer works to be translated into English.

Ein gut strukturierter Roman von Ge Fei. Der dritte Teil seiner Jiang-Nan-Serie. Mein stärkster Eindruck von dem Roman ist die Wertlosigkeit — die unerklärbare Verwirrung bei der Entwicklung der Marktwirtschaft und der Bildung des Selbstbewusstseins nach dem plötzlichen Rückzug der eisernen Hand des Staates. Alles scheint eher chaotisch als frei. Moral gibt leicht der Gier nach. Die Sprache ist sehr poetisch und enthält stets einen Hauch von Melancholie, was die Stimmung des Helden (eines Dichters) entspricht. Der Autor rafft den Vorhang des Sturms und Drangs von China seit 1990er Jahren sanft und seufzt für ihre bunten Charaktere: ein Dichter und Beamter, der den Sinn seiner Arbeit nicht kennt; eine erfolgreiche Rechtsanwältin, die sich keine Sekunde erholen will; ein Schüler, dessen Mutter für seine gute Note sein Haustier rauswirft; ein Mafiaboss, der sich mit der Polizei befreundet; ein Fabrikant, der von seinen Arbeitern ermordet wird usw. Immer noch viele Aufgaben sind für ein besseres China zu erledigen...

the last book in ge fei's series on utopia, in the form of 2010s marital drama featuring slacker loser poet husband duanwu and unhinged striver lawyer wife jiayu....

towards the last fourth of this book i started to lose faith there would be payoff for the ever-increasing number of subplots but i was genuinely quite moved by the ending... i was like yeah, the Human Condition!!

真实而荒诞的人生。读到书的大半，都觉得是现实的戏谑表现，有点像«我是猫»。直到端午和家玉的对话开始，才渐渐感到人生的某种不可抗力，会把小说中的故事和自己的人生联系起来，然后在若若与端午的互动中流下泪来。所有不可理喻的行为，都是有据可循的，误解背后意味着某种理解。

只有真正经历过那个野蛮生长的年代才能理解书中每个人的决定。这是一个快速发展的时代，每个人都想赶上时代的快车。在快速行驶的过程中，人们忘记了最终的目的地，也忘记了路边的风景。被本能欲望所驱使，没有自己的价值观。每个人都侃侃而谈，但又好像什么都没有说。所有人的最终归宿都是死亡，因而医院是最高的律法，无法逃脱。所有不能不想解释的原因都可以归因于宿命，好像这样就可以逃脱迷茫无知的责任。

最近看了格非的两本小说，《人面桃花》跟《春尽江南》。都说文学评论家不会行文，只会批评，但格非是个例外。两部作品都在探讨人们对于现实世界的失望，从而企图构建一个桃花源般的理想世界。两个时代的两批人物，以各自不同的理想，规划着那个世界。可最终他们都会发现，完美没有办法实现，起初怀有共同理想的人也在分道扬镳，最终所有的理想都回归原点。两个故事所处的时代完全不同，但都被一个叫做“花家舍”的地方连接起来。

花家舍，真是这样一个理想中的桃花源。先是一群带有文人气息的土匪，打算建立一个绝对平均主义的隐秘乡村，最终以七个创建人互相残杀而终结。后来，一群革命党在附近一个村庄开办学校，组织人马，为新的政治理想奉献自身、贡献家庭。现代社会的一个理想雏型，则以一个酒肉生香的奢侈娱乐场所的面貌出现、甚至是一个选址优良的精神病院、或是以剥削猎人生计得来的山林桃花源、或者是那可望不可及的遥远西藏。

花家舍，这样一个美丽、清新的地名，就这样沦落为一次次兴起、一次次消失的Atlantis。这个理想，牵动着一个个小地方的理想主义者，也激起了那几个胆大心大的野心家，建立起了现今世界上最庞大的理想世界。只是，理想虽然早就发酵变质，可所谓的理想，所谓的“花家舍”却成为禁锢着人们的一堵“高大尚”的围墙。

作者除了这个意象，还用到了融化的冰花暗示秀米的过去与未来、雾与夜暗示了庞家玉从少女到癌症晚期的困境。接下来的《山河入梦》又将带来关于一片阳光下的紫云英花地的故事。主人公姚佩佩又会何去何从？
