Swamp Bottom #4

Blue Lights and Boatmen

They say there are three sides to every story... We’ve heard from the sisters, now it’s time to hear from the men who've won their hearts. No one said dating would be easy, but then again, no one mentioned that dating a Dubois sister would threaten your sanity. Officer Quentin Pope and Zephirin LeBlanc have stayed in the background and let their girlfriends take the lead...but not anymore. They’re setting the record straight… Southern gossip, jealous exes, hidden agendas, meddling family members, and one hell of an unexpected twist push both couples toward the edge of crazy. However, in the bayou, nothing worth having comes without a battle, and Pope and Zep are laced up and ready to fight. Only the strong survive, and if you want to be a part of this family, you have to start by getting off the porch.

This is the fourth installment in the Swamp Bottom Series with Blue Lights and Boatmen. And I have to say that this RomCom series has ruined me for any other RomCom's. Unlike the previous books being told by the Dubois sister's Zep and Pope have taken the lead to tell their side! And boy do they have a story for you! And we can't forget Babs, Fluffy and Kevin making their highlights in there!

Cora Kenborn and KA Ware are an amazing team and this series is one that you need to own. The way they let Pope and Zep leap off the pages so that you can see the real them, what makes them tick. We watch as Pope deals with the secret he's kept hidden from Savannah about his family. We watch Zep deal with his emotions for how he feels about Adelaide, as well as watch him struggle with her reluctance for public displays of affection.

I won't let any more out of the bag. You need to go get this series to find out what all the buzz is about!

Woah I was a little skeptical at first thinking no ones POV can be better that the Dubois sisters but I was ecstatically surprised! Zep and Pope definitely brought their A game in keeping the reader entertained and wanting to get to know them more. I loved their different dynamics with Addie and Sav! You can definitely feel all their humor, frustration, anger but most of all their love towards these unique ladies. That cliffie tho... lol makes me want to read the next part ASAP!

So, I didn't even know it was possible that this series could get any better. Man, I don't even know where to begin. Blue Lights and Boatmen is the 4th book in the Swamp Bottom Series and just like the previous 3, I read it in on setting. LOVE IT. The Twist on this one? It was from ZEP AND POPE'S POV!

Hilarious, just Hilarious. Everyone is back from the previous books, and we finally get to know what these guys are really thinking about Addie and Savvy. There are some SWOON worthy scenes in here and DAMN that scene in the truck with Zep and Addie? I think that I almost melted my kindle.

I will say that this one has a hell of a cliff hanger and I can't WAIT for the next one. I have my suspicions on what is going to happen but I am not saying anything.

All I can say is JUST READ THESE BOOKS! Just GET THEM!

Freaking love this series

I absolutely adore this series. I loved seeing things from Zep and Pope's pov. Seeing how these men love these women and their crazy makes me smile. Thank you for writing real women and for writing a fantastic male pov. Babs is and always will be my favorite. #teambabs But the whole Bam Corleone scene had to be my favorite in this book. Here's to still hoping for a hea and lots of fiery sex. Love you ladies.

Book 4 gives us the POV from the brave (& I mean that wholeheartedly) gorgeous men who love Addie & Savvy.
These fine male specimens have to pass the smell test of Babs, Cousin Bam Bam & company or else face swamp justice, I never doubted Zep & Pope for one minute but our girls, especially Addie does not make it easy, but gotta love men that will go after what they want and not family or a soon to be ex husband will get in their way, only the sisters can prevent true love from happening.
These books read like your favorite television soap opera - not your run of the mill "cliffhangers" - nothing about Cora Kenborn & KA Ware's writing in the series has been run of the mill anything- the endings are more along the lines of Tune in next time............. and now that I am all caught up, I can't freakin wait.

Our favourite sisters with the hearts of crazy gold are back , and ... this time we are treated to their delicious man folk's POV. It was so damn good getting to know Pope and Zep! I loved them before, I love them even more now after getting a chance to see things from their perspective. Crazy in love!!!! This book was a fun, sexy, laugh out loud romp that really hits you in the feels. I am deeply invested in these wacky sisters getting it together, trusting themselves, and finding true love with their man folk. Can't wait for the next instalment!

5 Let's Hear It For The Boys Stars for Blue Lights and Boatmen

"Men are famous for claiming that women talk too much. Zep and Pope got their own book, and it ended up being the longest out of all the Swamp Bottom series, thus far. Just sayin’." - These are the first words you will read as you open this book. You know, the opening quote that has been a trend in books pretty much since books were written. To kind of set the tone or theme or whatever for the book. More often than not, I have to admit they are pompous and pretentious, or just confusing, or whatever. This, however, was absolutely perfect - like everything else in this book and series. I was laughing as soon as I read it, and this was all it took to remind me why I so anxiously await each volume of the series. Ms. Kenborn and Ms. Ware have created the perfect RomCom series that will take you straight into the Bayou. The Dubois girls captured my heart and imagination within the first few pages of Front Porches and Funerals, and I don't see them letting go anytime soon.

So, as the opening line of this volume and this review state, we are finally hearing from those long suffering men who are head over heels in love with Addie and Savvy. I might have, needlessly, hesitated for just a moment as I let it sink in that their points of view might change...I don't know...something...about the magic of the series. I should have known it could only enhance. I think I was worried I wouldn't get my Babs fix. No issues there either. One of my favorite scenes in the book involves Babs and BamBam "inviting" Pope and Zep to a Dubois Family barbecue. Another favorite is when Babs crashes Zep and Addie's dinner with Zep's mom - who, in my mind, is referred to as Babs Junior. I am looking forward to getting to see more of her in future books. Her grasp of the English language may be a bit better (though Babs' misinterpretations continue to be a joy) but she is a complete hoot as well.

Both couples hit some major bumps in this book that I can't wait to see play out. Zep and Addie's bump has the potential to be huge. I am trying to remember how many novellas this series was stated to be, because I am a bit sad to think we may be halfway through. This series has been a highlight of my reading year. The serial format is working perfectly; these ladies are doing a great job getting these out approximately every six weeks. Long enough to make us anxiously anticipate, but not so long to lose interest or need to go back and reread before the next book comes out (though I am positive when, sadly, it is all done, I will reread this series many times.)

There is just a very special chemistry here. Every character has so much personality that hops off the page and makes you think this is the story of the crazy friends you haven't seen for a while but sorely miss and will never forget. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts - not just the romantic chemistry, but the chemistry in every relationship; between the sisters, between the guys who have fallen for them, between each sister and the other's boyfriend, between their cousin and...everyone, and the force of nature who is the girls' grandmother. They are the perfect storm all the way around, and I love being in the vortex for a few hours every month or so.

Beyond my highest recommendations- if you haven't fallen yet, one click Front Porches and Funerals and dive in right now.

"Blue Lights and Boatmen" is the new novella of the Swamp Bottom series. We are finally learning more and more things about Pope and Zep, especially since this book is in their POVs. We see how they deal with their women and their struggle to make things right. On a side there is Pope who kept his identity hidden from Savvy because he didn't want his surname to define him as a person, and on the other side there's Zep who is trying to show Addie that he can be the man he wasn't 13 years before.

Let's start with Pope. We see a larger glimpse into his life. His father is annoying and judgemental, but Savvy knows how to handle him. I like this about her, she is care-free and bright despite people may be asses. I can see Pope is trying to let her into his life, but he isn't there yet. Savvy is more sure of herself compared to Addie, but at the same time, she hates lies. I wonder if Pope kept more things hidden from her in order to start anew in NOLA. Sometimes, he should try to be less controlling and live in the moment, and I think Savvy can help him do that.

Then there's Zep. Gee, I love Zep. I think he is my favorite character. I loved reading his POV, because until now I wasn't able to figure out his mind. Zep is the opposite of Pope. He is the typical "street" guy, humble, a bit rough, but also passionate. Zep made a mistake when he and Addie where in high school, and that cost him his happy ending with her. Now he's determined to get her back, but with her divorce not yet finalized, Addie seems to have doubts. Not about Zep, about people who surround them and that could judge her choices. Zep knows this, in fact I like how he tries to make Addie get out of her comfort zone. She's lived the last 10 years as a polished lady who always had to show a façade in front of people, so it's hard. But with a guy like Zep, she can be able to have a fresh start and finally live the life with him she probably wanted after school ended. Needless to say, Zep and Addie are my favorite couple, because I feel like her sometimes. She needs to believe more in herself and stop thinking about what others think of her.

Of course, this book ends with a cliffhanger - and what a cliffy it is. Now I think we'll have to wait another month for the next novella, and I just want to know how that will go...

This is the fourth installment in the Swamp Bottom Series with Blue Lights and Boatmen. This time the boys are taking over in this book and oh my, oh my, what a treat you have in store for you! Have your fans handy cause this is a scorcher for sure! Seeing things from a different point of view other than these our favorite Dubois girls is absolutely the best thing since Babs made Fluffy her pet!
This series continues to enthrall, engage and gets you more and more involved with the lives of everyone in this series. You laugh hysterically, you cry and yell but never do you put down this book because you always want to know what happens next.
Learn more about our boy Quentin Pope, his family and their brand of crazy quirkiness. It makes sense why he doesn’t talk about his family much but can Savannah hold her on when meeting them for the first time?
Zep is an altogether different view on what he wants in his new life with Addie – the one that got away, the girl of his dreams. Addie keeps holding back, stepping away. Sure they are wickedly amazing together in private but she takes off like a bat out of h*ll in public and running scared. How should a man feel when the woman he desperately wants, seems to be ashamed to be seen with him?
Check out this amazingly wicked good book in the continued tale of the Swamp Bottom Series. Definitely top rate!

The Swamp Bottom series continues! Blue Lights and Boatmen is the fourth installment in the series, and this time, it's the boys in charge! YES! I've been waiting for them to weigh in and give us their thoughts, and show these sassy women they mean business, and boy, do they mean business! If you thought it was hot down south, it's about to get hotter! The Dubois sisters are gonna get it and good! I absolutely loved Zep, and I'm still a big fan! And loving Pope - he's finally showing his colors, and his family is just bat-shizz crazy. I love how this series is so wacky funny, yet so scorching hot. I don't know how it's going to get even better, but I just know somehow it will! And Zep is working on getting the girl of his dreams. I loved seeing how he envisioned things with Addie. She's still skittish, but he wants her to know that he's here to stay. I loved it! Oh, but that ending!!!

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Blue Lights and Boatmen (Swamp Bottom Novella #4)

What can I say about this talented, epic writing duo? I have been drawn into these books and can't wait for the next one to come out. Each book they write gets better and hotter. Cora Kenborn and KA Ware will transport you into their book world. In this book Blue Lights and Boatmen, we get to see into Zep and Popes minds. What a thrill that was. Pope's secret that he had not mentioned to Savannah to Addy will she ever let Zep in 100 percent? I was blown away by the parking lot with Zeb and started to like Pope more with the dock. Want to know what I am talking about go grab the book... WAIT grab the whole series you don't want to miss out. I love the fact that these are novellas and that they are quick reads. The whole gang Adelaide, Savannah, Kevin, Zeb, Pope, and Babs will have you in tears one minute and laughing the next.

Blue Lights and Boatmen is Zep and Pope's time to tell us what they think about the Dubois sisters. We get to meet Pope's family at Sunday dinner. Then Savannah meets them for the first time at the Policeman's ball and she proves a Dubois sister can handle anything. Zep doesn't give up on Addie and we get to learn all about his high school mistake that caused him to lose Addie for 10 years. We meet Zep's mom at Sunday dinner and Bab's comes over with "dessert". I can picture Bab's (KA) dressed in the bright red velour tracksuit and flat ironed hair. I love this series and I love getting to know the guys better. If you want to know more of what happens in the Swamp Bottom Series you have to one-click and trust me you will not regret it! This is a well written, hilarious, sweet, sexy, laugh out loud novella. Another fantastic book by these two talented authors!

This is the fourth book in the Swamp Bottom series by the uber talented duo that is KA Ware and Cora Kenborn. This book is told from Pope and Zep's point of the view, YES! We finally get to see the girls, Savvy and Addie through the boys. Brilliant!

Clam diggers, crazy Russian, dirty feet, Babs, alligator, and a pig. Are you intrigued yet? Well, you should be.. No, seriously. This is my favorite of all of the Swamp Bottom Novellas, I laughed, and cried, and laughed again. It was awesome and left me jonesing for more.. especially with the brutal cliff hanger… Get ready for serious book hangover!

K.A Ware and Cora Kenborn were pure Genius writing this book in Hep and Pope's POV.
Addie and Sav are up to no good once again in Blue lights and Boatmen, BUT... we see all of the craziness through the eyes of their men!!
Babs is her same crazy self and we see more of Bam, which I LOVE!!
I absolutely LOVE The Dubois sisters, but at times I wanna climb inside of the book and wring their necks for being so darn headstrong!! And Poor Pope and Hep... they continue to have their hands full while trying to navigate the rocky waters of their relationships!!
I laughed so hard I cried and I can't wait until the next installment!!!

BlueLights and Boatmen is the fourth installment in the Swamp Bottom series. The day has finally come, it is Zep and Pope's turn, we get to see things from their POV. Now its not being re-told from the beginning. Bluelights and Boatmen picks up where Hook-Ups and Hang-Overs ended. My heart aches for the guys. You get to learn more about them and what happened 13 years ago between Zep & Addie. Get ready for some series whiplash, laughing, angry and happy times while reading. This series is worth reading. I can't wait for the next installment. It can't come quick enough.

I love this series more and more with each book that comes out. You aren't just reading a book about fictional characters, these characters are like family. This installment finds Sav and Pope eye to eye with his past and his parents, Addie and Zep going to Sunday dinner at Mom's, and Bam Bam creates his own "circle of trust". You will laugh, shed a few tears and wish you could go down to the DuBois family BBQ. Don't miss this one.

I love finally hearing from Zep & Pope. Everything they do is because they are crazy about Addie & Savvy. Just when you think Zep & Addie are together she pulls back. I'm so rooting for her to finally give in and let them be together like they should have been together all them years ago. Babs will still crack u up with everything that comes out of her mouth. Can't wait to see what will happen next

Blue lights and Boatmen maybe one of my favorites yet! I enjoyed getting to know our men in the series a little better. But yet still keeping in touch with our sisters and their extended family. Because what would a swap bottom book be without Babbs? 😜
Once again I was turning pages like crazy and not stopping until it was done. Now I'm begging for more. These two authors never disappoint.

From the Men of Swamp Bottom!

In Blue Lights and Boatmen, we finally get a glimpse into the minds of the Swamp Bottom men and it's just as entertaining. We get to see what they really think of their lovely ladies, the crazy antics, and the equally crazy family behind them. I loved this new point of view and hope we get to see more from Zep and Pope in the Swamp Bottom series!

Another great and hilarious part of the story!

This is book 4 in the series, and I loved this one! It's not a standalone, as it continues to build on everything that happened previously, so you'll definitely want to read the other books first. And I REALLY recommend reading them. This one has more of the humor you've grown to expect from this series, and the bonus this time is seeing the male perspective.

This episode brought more light to what happens with the male POV, and I found it refreshing and fun. Pope is a fun, good guy, and I like him even more now. Zep is still my favorite, and it was great seeing his shenanigans here. I loved Savvy in this book, as she stands up for herself as only she can. Addie is dealing with things as only she can.

Overall, I loved the story. It has all the humor I could ever want, packed into a nice, small package, some hot moments for our couples that are very satisfying, and more character growth. I'm loving the secondary characters as they continue to pop in and show off their brand of crazy that I've learned to love. The pacing is also great, and the editing is solid as ever, with few grammar errors. It's very short and satisfying, and thankfully, the next book is out so you don't have to wait for the cliffhanger. If you haven't tried reading this series, you should! It's excellent!
