Since Making a Difference was first published, then 'face' of mainstream Canadian literature has changed irrevocably with the rise to prominence of writers representing the spectrum of Canadian multicultural society. Her publications include A Mazing Space: Writing Canadian Women Writing, co-edited with Shirley Neuman (1986); On the Edge of Genre: The Contemporary Canadian Long Poem (1991); Trans.Can.Lit: Resituating the Study of Canadian Literature (WLUP, 2007), co-edited with Roy Miki; and Making a Difference: Multicultural Literatures in English Canada (2006). She is the founder and director of TransCanada Institute.

As with all collections of texts; short stories, poems and discussion pieces, there are always good, bad and just plain awful texts present.
Sometimes the reader does get lucky and comes across a collection that offers a wide breadth of texts that are of good quality and that address a variety of issues within the topic they claim to belong.
Not only that, but this collection contains a few exceptional pieces that really were a pleasure to read.
