Such a lovely story!
Based on Liz who lives in London it's set during the second world war. Liz and her best friend, Marg decide to try ice skating and they meet a couple of American soldiers who become their boyfriends. Over time they get more involved and future plans are made, then disaster strikes and Liz has to re build her life.
Would recommend as it's so easy to read and engaging.

A Brighter Day Tomorrow written by Pam Evans and narrated by Annie Aldington was for me an excellent work of historical fiction which was narrated perfectly.
I loved the many characters which filled this wonderful book, Liz the main character was one girl who clearly needed to be loved unconditionally, this love came from a very handsome American G.I. named Victor who certainly loved her as much as she loved him. The fact her sister Dora was extremely jealous of Liz did not dampen the love this couple had for each other, the only thing that could destroy their love was the bombs which Hitler ordered to be dropped upon them.
The main storyline is indeed heartbreaking but with the strength, Liz certainly had within her brought her through, and even the many horrible experiences which were thrust upon would not break her spirit as Liz had friends who cared for her and would help her through a horrible heartbreaking time in her life.
This is a wonderful book which I am happy to recommend to other readers of historical fiction especially the era based around and after the Second World War, it was full of fun and sadness but for me, Liz showed the true spirit which helped Britain defeat Germany.
A Brighter Day Tomorrow written by Pam Evans is a first class work of historical fiction which I am happy to recommend.

This was such a lovely story, I have never read anything by this author before but I will definitely be reading her back list now as I just loved her writing style and the storyline.

The story follows Liz who lives in London, Liz and her best friend Marge go ice skating and meet two American soldiers who over time become their boyfriends. Over time they get more involved and further plans are made for each of the couples. I loved Liz as a character and found Vic to be such a warming character. I found myself liking most of the characters throughout the story apart from her sister Dora I just couldn’t warm to her character at all. The storyline had a lot of ups and downs but I found it such an interesting read.

I seemed to fly through this book as I just couldn’t put it down. I found the writing style so easy to follow and I was so invested in the story I needed to know what happened next. I found certain aspects of the story quite predictable but really enjoyed my time reading this. I will happily pick up more from this author as I just loved this so much.

Slowely Liz begins to trust the 2 men and they strike up a friendship and plan to meet again.

Thoroughly enjoyed. Not too keen that the almost-villianous character turned good so quickly! Was hoping for a bit more grit! But great characters, great story.
