Not fairy tales

Interesting look at the similarities and themes running through fairy tales from many cultures. Well written and excellent research make this a facinating read. But this is NOT a book of fairy tales.

The first half of this book was a good read, showing common elements in European and Indian myths. The second half was more about fairy-tales, and mostly showed common elements across various parts of Europe. most of the explanations were speculative. I would recommend the first half of the book to English readers seeking a flavor of the common Aryan root fables.

Very old fashioned a book of its time.... just switched off when he was babbling on about the Aryan race.
