Plot
There is a boy that wished he were an alien. He wanted to go to space, and wanted to fly around to all of the planets. Then he wouldn't have to listen to anyone anymore. He wouldn't do anything for his hygiene, he would just fly his spaceship to school everyday. He would go to Mars and Jupiter to visit the aliens. Then there was an alien boy who wished he was a human boy. He wanted to ride buses, drive cars, and go to school. He thought everything in space was all the same and super boring. The alien boy though Earth kids lives are cool, so that is why he wanted to live on Earth. I read this to my sister and she thought it was a pretty cool book, which is what she said. I even thought this was an interesting book for a first or second grader.

Characterization
There was a human boy who wanted to be an alien boy. I think he was the main character, just because they talked more about him in the story. Then there was the alien boy who wished he was on Earth.

Setting
In the beginning it took place in space with the boy flying around. The boy visited Mars, Jupiter and many of the other stars and planets out in space. The alien boy was in space at first then he was on Earth talking about how much fun it would be. The time would be in the future when we actually discover aliens and when people have their own spaceship to fly around in. The places this story takes place in are space, Mars, Earth, Jupiter, and other stars and planets that aren't named.

Theme
I think the author is trying to say shoot for what you dream for, because if you keep trying hard enough you could achieve it. I think the author was also trying to say dream big.

Recommend
I would recommend this to young kids around second grade because I read this to my eight year old sister and she really liked it. I wouldn't recommend this book to children above third or fourth grade.

Told first from the perspective of a young earth boy. He tells of why he would like to be an alien. Pretty much... what sucks about being a human. Then the script flips and a young alien boy tells why he would like to be a human and why being an alien sucks.

Good for storytime. Little text and the kids can relate. Sparks conversation about what they like and don't like about their everyday lives.

Level 1, maybe level 1+. I thought Kiddo would love it, he liked it, but it wasn't a hands down favorite. The upside is he read it very well.

Unexpected transition from human to alien perspective. I had to reread that part to actually get the change.
