Except for the funny parts, this was bland.

This was a fun story about a sexy demon and a clueless part demon who are set up by no other then Lucifer. However Lucifer is not exactly who you expect in this story as the author has taken the creative reigns and made her a female Lucifer. She may be the ruler of hell, but his Lucifer is a matchmaker and decided to interfere with her niece Aramantia ‘ Mina’ Tempest’s love life and get her an HEA demon style.
Mina is 1/8 incubus and is fortunate enough to live a pretty normal life, but she has to give one week, once a year to her aunt and otherwise she free to do whatever she likes in the human realm. However this year her aunt has got other ideas, instead of giving her the usual job of auditing the books, her aunt wants her to help one of her demons who has decided to take over a new leaf and wants to make her heir. Mina wants to be easy and simple and reluctantly agrees to help , not knowing it is her teen crush Jedd Madison who humiliated her when she was younger. Talk about awkward situation as it seems that Mina hasn’t gotten over it and feels she should have been treated better.
Jedd Madison is being played as well by Lucifer. One of demons that works for Lucifer , he give up the life of picking woman to feed of their souls, and now seeks emotions to survive. Jedd is not free from Lucifer’s clutches and he needs to do one last thing to be set free. He needs to pretend that he isn’t the lady man he is and listen to Mina’s suggestions. However Jedd regrets what did to Mina when she was younger and actually wanted her but he was reckless and young. Now older and wiser he wants the independent woman in his bed. However Mina think he just a job and it may takes help from Lucifer and her nefarious nephew to get this couple heading in the direction
It a fun paranormal romance from the author, the first in her series Lucifer Inc giving her spin on the demons. Jedd was definitely a sexy demon and wasn’t what I was expecting at all and I love the idea of the concept of seeing Lucifer as a female and how this wasn’t purely about dating. There is a little surprising suspense thriller sub plot involved in the story and there some naughty imps determined to help Mina. It is a great opening to the series and I look forward to reading the next book and seeing where she goes next. It wasn’t all what I was expecting based on my previous experiences with demons and I hope the author continues in this vein
