This is a fun book on using different fabrics, fibers and materials to create your own jewelry. The techniques taught include wrapping, stitching, braiding and knotting, as well as using wool and wool roving to make beads and embellishments to string together. The tutorials are sometimes repetitive but the final products showcased in the book are interesting and unique, although they are not very sophisticated pieces so perhaps may not be to everyone's taste.

The pluses: The book is clearly and well written; the projects are easy enough for beginners; the tutorials are accompanied by lots of photos so they are quite easy to follow; author Heidi Pridemore uses ordinary household materials like buttons and washers in her jewelry-making, adding interesting shapes and elements to the handcrafted accessories.
