A book of personal interest to me and my family -- I am a descendent of Italian immigrants that came to Texas in the late 19th century. A very well written and engaging book about important and not-so-important Italian immigrants who settled in Texas. I found Belfiglio's writing very engaging and he filled in many of the questions I had about my ancestors and others There are many well known (Nocona & Lucchese, for example) and many ordinary people who came from all over Italy. He tells their stories -- why they left Italy, which regions they came from, their influence on Texan culture. Learned a lot!
