The first two titles in this series were written, illustrated and published by an adult military brat in 2001 to help children coping with the deployment of a parent.

A board book for children to help ease the emotional stress of a child when their mommy assigned to the military is deployed, and will be away for a period of time.

This is a board book and wonderful because I haven't found any others about mothers deploying. I'm not sure the "real" world really knows how many women have been deployed to Iraq and other hostile locations.

Good story for helping talk about deployments. I found this book at the base library and thought it was a good way to talk with our girls about my job in the military.
