Birds of prey from eagles to owls.
size varies in most groups, hawks to owls range in size from mere ounces to several pounds.
the so called nocturnal owls hunt day or night. The color of their eyes tells when; with yellow
eyes they hunt by day, orange at dusk or dawn and the dark eyed ow270ls hunt at night.
Their other noteworthy quality is that they can pivot their neck about 180 degrees of a circle with some going on up to 270 degrees. Quite a swivel.

This is a fun classroom book for elementary school kids, especially because it is absolutely huge so a lot of students can gather around and read it together. Unfortunately, the quality of the photographs is sometimes quite poor (pixelated and/or blurry) so I wasn't really able to enjoy it. I love raptors, and reading about them was fun, but with a book of this massive size, the quality of the photos really needs to scale up to match.

A very large coffee table book with matching large pictures. I should not have been surprised to learn that trying to precisely define the distinction between various raptors is not easy.
