Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

This book relays the history of the Catholic Church, specifically on the Catholic Church in Western Europe. (Which is logical, since Europe was and is the central ground of Catholicism).
I'd have liked to know more about the missions in Africa, Asia and South America, since the author was kind of brief about those.

I learned a lot. I was not really aware what it practically means when the monarch or government decides upon the faith of the population and severely punishes anyone opposing those beliefs. Prosecution and discrimination of Catholics was very real, also in Europe! I am so glad we have (relatively) freedom of religious beliefs and are allowed to celebrate our faith, but I am also aware that this is a big good that is not guaranteed always. And as such I will cherish this freedom and be grateful I have received it.
