Picture books without any words are an awesome way to allow students to "author" their own stories with illustrative help. Although this could not really be used as a read aloud, students can take a picture walk and decide what they would write as the author.

We watched this story play out on video via Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVD and we were NOT impressed. The Daddy Bear attempts to get rid of the fly during dinner, but his swatting abilities and aim ends up hurting his entire family. My daughter was mildly traumatized by this and the video of it was quite violent for a toddler story. Do not recommend it :(

I “read” this to my son repeatedly years ago. We loved it & laughed hysterically every time. Highly recommended.

This is the funniest book I have ever read. While trying to read it to my little brother in the '80s, I almost passed out from laughing so hard.

AKA Why Does Bear R. Run Amok?

(I realize this is obscure, but someday someone will understand and it will all be worth it.)
