This was the very first book I read on butterfly gardening back when I started my first butterfly/caterpillar garden, and it holds a special place in my heart as a result of that. Though there are more comprehensive books out there, this is a nice, small book that is a decent place for the novice to begin.

Cute quick read. Is informative though somewhat outdated. Planting native is so important over simply planting butterfly attracting plants.

This is a great start for researching different varieties of plants and butterflies.

It works. The question is, after it works, do you still want it to work? The bees will come too; hummingbirds, dragon flies, wasps, yellowjackets, bumblebees, and every kind of teensy, colorful, chittering bird one can imagine. An awesome book for starting up such a garden for family fun.
