Wynn was born in Houston, Texas, and earned a history degree from Rice University in 1972. She later attended the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona, for her Masters, and gave up a respectable career in international banking to make an abortive attempt at entering veterinary school. Deciding to stay at home and take care of her children instead, she has dedicated the remainder of her life to being a starving author with a passion for history. She sold the first book she ever wrote to Harlequin in 1987, but made up for this great start later with several unsold manuscripts dispersed lightly amongst the aforementioned published titles.

When Pat's at home, she occupies an empty nest in Newport Beach, California, with her husband and a new spoiled little puppy named Puppet.

Clean and rather silly historical romance.
I was in the mood for something amusing or I probably would have hated this one. High drama over rather a lot of nothing much. The villains were suitably villainous, the heroine was delightfully naive, the hero was all things heroic. The house full of elderly people and "the pensioners" added just the right level of complete ridiculousness.
Fluff with an adorable happy ending.
Some violence. No sex. Mild language.

What a delightful read! The story begins in France and ends in England. Lord Harleston is summoned by his former Captain who is lying on his deathbed and commissions Lord Harleston to safely whisk the Captain's daughter, Susan, back to England. Thus the subterfuge begins. Lord Harleston becomes a groom, Tom, and Susan becomes a French widow, Mrs Suzanne Faringdon, who was "married" to an Englishman. The plot moves along at a good pace, the attraction between Tom and Susan is believable, and there is enough action to keep the reader engrossed. This is a nice, clean romance with enough adventure to capture and keep the reader's interest. 3-1/2 stars.

A silly, not-to-be-taken-seriously romance. The main conflict has really nothing to do with the main characters, it unfolds and resolves without them, so it’s kinda pointless
