The American Diabetes Association is the nation's premiere nonprofit association devoted to diabetes research and care. The Association is also the largest publisher of diabetes books; in fact, 1 in 3 books on diabetes published in the United States is published by us.
Our books range from cookbooks, lifestyle guides and diabetes self-management resources to texts for health care professionals and researchers working toward better treatment, and ultimately a cure for, people with diabetes.
Many of the books we publish are written by well-respected health professionals and chefs. These books can be found on the "Published by the ADA" shelf on our bookshelf.
Visit diabetes.org or shopdiabetes.org to find out more information on our books.
This book is for those unwilling to do an internet search and just become educated concerning this illness. I didn't particularly like the way the information was presented, and expected better from the American Diabetes Association.
I was not especially impressed with the usefulness of this book. The first letter of some of the topics (and the topics themselves!) seem arbitrarily chosen. There's no index to find a topic if your idea of what it should be named disagrees with theirs. In addition, in today's world of Internet search engines the content of this book can easily be found elsewhere.
There is useful advice hidden in here, but it's hard to find and can be found elsewhere more easily.
This is a handy book to have for a diabetic's family. Easy to read and understand. It puts everything you would need to know about diabetes in one simple book.
Diabetes A-Z has been helpful to my family in understanding what I go through as well as how they can help me.
A very easy to read and understand book. It lost a star for writing on page six that we use cholesterol for our "cell walls". That's just too dumb, sorry.
