I really enjoyed the story. The Hood's were up to there usual catching the bad guys. After just finish Rob's story The Perfect Seduction Kimani Romance I was really looking forward to this one because Rob was such a romantic. Well Zach is almost the total opposite. He was really str8 and to the point, and said what was on his mind, which is why him and Kim were perfect for each other because they are exactly the same. For me this book lacked the intimacy between Rob & Kim. It took them a really long time to get together, and I thought the love scenes lacked a lot of descriptive details. Often times they were over before they started. I did like the suspense side of the story. It was almost like reading a mystery novel trying to figure out the clues, and who was actually after the judge (Kim). I do think the story ending too abruptly. The final mystery was solved in the last 2 pages of the book, and then it was swiftly over. An Epilogue would have been nice as well. To find out what happened with Zack & Kim, if Kim finally got the family she always wanted. I feel like the reader is left hanging a bit. Hopefully we'll find out what happened with them if Hugh's story is written.

This was the first book I read by Carmen Green...I love the chemistry between Zach and Kim...but I felt as if something was missing from this story...at times it went a little fast for me...but I love the way she incorporated some action scenes...I would of love to have seen more love scenes between Zach and Kim...I felt as if the loves scenes were not descriptive enough at all...I wanted to know more about her life in boarding school...there were so many characters, I tended to get a little confused as to who was who...I figure the criminal at the beginning of the story was gonna be apart of the story...but he was not... so In my opinion that scene could of been by past...I also felt as if there were things talked about in this story that was not really explained....Over all this book had potential...I would possibly read more books by her...I do think she should continue with another hood story about Zach and Kim...I will love to know if they had kids...If she has or had some siblings etc...

The mystery/suspense Plot line seemed an interesting set-up and the characters presented positive images. But the book let me down. The Romance line was bland and forced which was a great drawback for me. The solution of the mystery depended too heavily on coincidence or was not explained well. Many of the heroine's actions went against logic and self-preservation.

The hero is competent, intelligent, with a strong sense of family. Unfortunately, I didn't get a strong romantic vibe from his relationship with the heroine. He didn't titillate my senses.

The heroine appeared confident and direct. However, she seemed unnecessarily contrary to her own self-preservation too often. There were several times that her actions endangered others for no good reason. She was difficult to like or sympathize with.

I felt it was simply a middle of the range product. Not bad, but not special in any way.

If this story was a solitary story it would have been a good read, although the author seemed to have rushed this one and left so much out.  Zach and Kim didn't seem to have any chemistry, but I would have gladly given it a 4.  But add in the fact that this is a part of a series, and the fact the author neglected to connect this one to the two previous books very well and it ruined things for me.  Important facts from the previous books were overlooked and key information was not mentioned.  That perfect moment was ruined for me because it was preceded with too many imperfect moments.

Was on my to be read pile and boy am I glad I chose this one. This was a GREAT read. I started it yesterday (3/7)morning and finished it last night. This book held me captive from beginning to ending. Is full of mystery, murder, mahem, gradually falling in love and hott passion! Enjoyed fully and if you've not read it yet, then I suggest you pick it up and read it.

I truly enjoyed this story so much so that I made sure to get the other books in the series so that I could go back. I'm reviewing this story for the Romance Slam Jam.
