A must read for a beginner student of this art form and much needed guidance for advanced students to learn intricate details of Tabla Solo playing as well as learn different odd taals. On top of this there is a good amount of theory in terms of understanding the history of tabla and the entire percussion history and its origins from Vedas. It also covers all the great gurus of Tabla and their contributions to the art of tabla playing as well as their famed compositions which has been passed down from generations.

Very interesting, but sometimes a bit unclear in its explanations. Definitely not real-beginner friendly
