Annabel always had fun birthday parties at home. She'd had a Hawaiian party, last year was a school pool party. Her best friend Nicole always came and sang Happy Birthday the loudest. Uncle Bob wrote out the invitations every year. For the Hawaiian party, he made girls who wiggled their hips when you pulled the tab. For the Winter party, he made Penguins wearing sparkly hats. For the school party, they were like report cards.

This year Annabel had new friends from her concert group. She wanted something different. Nicole had a rock climbing party and a cake from a bakery. She wanted her party this year to be more grown-up. Her cousin Sophie suggested she look at the 'Party Princess' sight and the 'What's hot' suggestion was a 'Mocktail Party.'

Would this be her best birthday party ever? Or would it be a disaster?
