Smithmark Civil War Library

The Attack and Defense of Little Round Top, Gettysburg, July 2, 1863

Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Had I known that this book merely contained a collection of battle reports and letters, and had I realized how tedious battle reports and letters would be to read straight through for hundreds of pages, I never would have made the attempt. But on the upside, I have a better understanding of this particular part of the Battle of Gettysburg now. So that's something.

Solid and clear-eyed survey of the involved units from both sides. Loaded with primary sources.
