I actually like this book because as many people would, it makes you think of the movie "Nemo." This would make reading the book more interesting from the start. It's very informational and uses lots of details. I feel like it should use more pictures of the clown fish itself.

Readers are introduced to colorful parrotfish and clownfish in two new additions to Pebbles’ “Under the Sea” non-fiction series. Beginning readers will choose these books for both the full-page photos and the accompanying short sentences set in large type. One drawback: there is no pronunciation guide, which would have been helpful with vocabulary like “algae,” “anemone,” and “predator”, but the glossary is a useful additional nonetheless. Put these titles on a reading list for 1st-and 2nd-grade Ocean units.

My 7 year old son recently borrowed this non-fiction book from his school library.

The book describes, what clown fish are, what they look like, how they swim, where they live, and how they protect themselves. Each page has a colorful picture to go along with the information.

My son did need some help with a few of the words, but most of the text is easy and has large print. My son enjoyed this book.

This informational book about clown fish explains their physical characteristics including their bright colors, their fins, and some of their behavioral traits like living with sea anemones in coral reefs. It is a good content area book that can be part of a core text set in science. It is simple and has a glossary at the back with vocabulary as well as a reference page for students to get more information. This book is suitable for grades k-2.
