This was so cute! Definitely reminded me of my goal to one day travel across Poland someday. I recommend this to both children and adults who want to brush up on their Polski język!
As a rhymed story for children it's ok. Enchanted dumpling girl travels all around Poland visiting various regions and places of interest. As a sign of its times it's interesting from historical point of view. In the book written before WW2 Pyza visited Lwów, Wilno and other places taken later by Soviets. So after the war in fifties it had to be rewritten and injection of propaganda had to be added. In this version Pyza visits a lot of places on so called Recovered Territories, she helps youth brigades to plough a vasteland, has a chat with a Russian builder of Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. It just shows how even books for small children had to be part of bigger plan of "building new society". A bit scary to watch today, 60 years after, similar things going on in culture. So it's worth to read "Pyza" to a child explaining few things.
