Excellent explanation of the text from a pastor's perspective. Filled with great illustration and application. A go to exposition commentary.

Helpful devotional reading from Phil Ryken. Phil and I overlapped in Oxford during the short lifetime of a previous presbyterian plant here and we are still in touch.

These sermons are straightforward to read, full of Christ, thoughtful and faithful to the text. 55 sermons take you up to the end of chapter 12 and a vehement call from Christ to settle your accounts with him. He comes to divide and will you be found on his side of the division at the last day?

Strongly recommended for devotional reading. They would also be helpful for sermon preparation.

One of the best expository commentaries on the Gospel of Luke. Read Winter/Spring/Summer of 2018 for Sunday School preparation; read pp. 1-113 for a sermon series on Luke 1-2 (Fall 2022) - still one of the best
