Little by little the things in a young girl's room change from familiar to extraordinary, as her chair becomes an elephant, her rug becomes a fish pond, and her desk becomes a castle.
Jennifer's Room speaks to me because, well, my name is Jennifer! This book was gifted to me when I had daughters of my own. I love the artwork, the relaxing blending of the colors that show how the child's wonderful imagination blends reality with fantasy.
A sort of fun story spun from a little girl's imagination. The reading level is simple, but I perceived that it made my son a little uncomfortable, him being extremely sensitive, so it's probably not a good recommendation for young children with sensitivities or bedtime/fear of dark/being alone issues.
