A very good and important book in the discussions regarding holiness and entire sanctification. Greathouse is a great theologian, but at time he bogs down the theology with too much verbiage. That being said, he helped reignite some love towards historical theology for me. I already had a fond love for historical theology and Greathouse brings some scholars I had not read before to the picture.
Wow. William does a great job sharing the historical and biblical development of Christian Perfection in the Church. This was rich and deep writing. This is one of the best books I’ve read on Christian Perfection because it was biblical, clear, and to the point.
“A scriptural doctrine of Christian Perfection thus declared that entire sanctification is the action of God, who by the Holy Spirit freed the soul from sin and inaugurates a new patter of inward devotement.”
