Rosemary Wells is an American writer and illustrator of children's books. She often uses animal characters to address real human issues. Some of her most well-known characters are Max & Ruby and Timothy from Timothy Goes To School (both were later adapted into Canadian-animated preschool television series, the former’s airing on Nickelodeon (part of the Nick Jr. block) and the latter’s as part of PBS Kids on PBS).

This book was given to us by the hospital. Mike and I read it to Natalie one night in the hospital. We alternated on reading the pages. There were several cool things about this book. First, the illustrations showed a night time routine, which made it a nice bed time book for older kids. Second, each page had a consultation on it, which was an fun extra detail.

A second verse in the book I've never heard:
"Faithful friend with eye so bright, stay beside me all the night."
"Tiny star, my promise keep. Light my travels through my sleep."
Above each phrase, the illustrations show different star patterns in the sky: Leo, Libra, Cygnus, Pegasus, Ursa Major, Cassiopeia, orion, and virgo.
