This new Instruction from the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) provides guidance on how to respect human life and human procreation in our heavily scientific age.
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) (Congregatio pro Doctrina Fidei), previously known as the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office, and sometimes simply called the Holy Office is the oldest of the nine congregations of the Roman Curia of The Catholic Church. Among the most active of these major Curial departments, it oversees Catholic doctrine. The CDF is the modern name for what used to be the Holy Office of the Inquisition.
This is not new... 1987. It concerns embryonic life, its production, protection, storage, usage and destruction. Given how little care is given unborn babies, it's not surprising this situation is so poorly understood, but it is tragic, nevertheless. Discovered in the first few paragraphs I need to go back and read Donum Vitae: Instruction on Respect for Human Life in Its Origin and on the Dignity of Procreation as this is a follow-on to that.
