Finally, the third book in the Legacy of the Dark Kind series is here.
This now is supposed to be the book that will reveal some of the Dark Kind's background and at the same time launch into the ultimate battle to save the Earth from the Enemy. Naturally, I won't give the finer details of either away in this review. I am most pleased to report that Blood Alliance displays about the same magnificent style of storytelling that got me into this series in the first book (Blood Tears). Raven tells her stories in a beautiful way but without loosing any time playing around with words. All the information belongs into the story. There are no unnecessary descriptions of landscape or similar to bore you while the action pauses. The action just doesn't pause. Also with several human, K'elphin and Dark Kind characters being vital to parts of the story, there is quite a bit to write (and read) about before you get to the end. A bleak future and dark past, both populated with marvellously beautiful and strong vampires (Dark Kind), blend into the plot full of surprises and fast paced action.
Whichever vampire is your own personal favourite in Raven's story will be back in this book. So this is well worth reading if you liked any of the previous books. All of the books in the Legacy series can be read on their own. Each book will give you enough information to follow the story without the previous book. However, I do recommend reading them in order to fully appreciate the extend of the story.
Do not, under any circumstances, read the author's footnote or even worse skip to the end before you've read the whole book though. The twist at the end is quite unexpected and will be worth the wait that comes with reading a book properly.

Brown up Vampires at last.

A fitting end to a well written trilogy.

The final book about The Dark Kind. Vampires but without the sparkles of some other writers. These are dark , broody and at times nasty. But also have feelings and a strong sense of "doing the right thing". Well apart from Jas. Hedonistic, and doing things his way. But in the end comes good. I will miss them. Do read the books in order. The way the character's develope as they move through time to the final book explained why the individuals behave the way they do. The humans in the story are as important, but for me it is the vampires which are centre stage. More please RAven.
