While this was a lovely, well written book, I wasn’t blown away. It was the equivalent of a nice cup of tea. Just comforting and warm. There’s no drama, no angst, no fiery passion. Nothing to make the story stand out.

The characters were absolutely “nice”. They were perfect together, mature, sensible, kind and they loved each other. It was so vanilla I had a hard time focusing on the story.

What does it say about me when I’m bored stiff by a lovely story? I may need to rethink my reading choices. And while I do that, I’ll read a book with a crappy alpha and lots of drama filled angst. :D

I took this on my hols, as an extra book, knowing I'd be able to read it quickly (as I'm aiming to read 40 books in a year). I'd taken my Writing Magazine, and the June edition had an article on Kate Hardy - the article was 'My Writing Day' (regular feature in WM covering a different author). So I was so please to find she was the author of this book! (I don't know I kind of found it nicely ironic).

Great book, actually. I will look out for more Kate Hardy M&B books. Not sure if I'll be so fussed about the Medical Romance genre she also writes in, but I did enjoy this Modern Heat!

Very good book, especially for a Harlequin Romance. I actually loved the hero in this book, he actually considered the heroine's feelings and conceded to her. Will probably read more Kate Hardy books.

It was good, both hero and heroine were really nice and both were really mature and didn't have secrets or agendas. I would say that book is a bit forgettable though. Np.

**Something that did bother me was in chapter 2 He planned on hooking up with a woman named Reǹee in the garden at a party. It was after kissing heroine and before meeting her again next day. It wasn't addressed what happened and if he did have sex with that other woman. I just don't know why that had to be in the book. I like for heroes to have eyes only for heroines after they meet.

Loved this one. The hero was gorgeous in every sense, and a well matched heroine. Lots of passion and some amazing recipes too. Definitely worth a reread.

I absolutely loved this. How fabulous to read a story which has realistic, decent, engaging characters who behave well with each other h other and develop a love which makes me believe everything is possible. Having read several stories recently when the hero was an utterly cruel jerk and the heroine was either unpleasantly vicious or a Mary Ashe who wore a ‘step on me’ Penny - this was a delight.

KH writes exceeding good romantic fiction.

Lily has already been burned once. Karim, used to getting his own way, works to bring Lily around to his way of thinking. He wants her, she wants him, why fight it?

A nice story.
